  • Hi

Thought I would give another wee update. I havent really heard from anyone :-) I sent my first payment to stepchange on the 5th and have set up dd from my new bank account to come out on the 1st from now on. My new account is going brilliant not had a problem using the cashminder card. I had a call from cheque centre today, a male telling me he was from the legal department dealing with the 'case' against me. Questioned why I had cancelled the cpa on my account I explained that I was on a dmp and stepchange had contacted them to advise. He denied this also denied that I had had a reply by email from someone there confirming my dmp and also denied they had received my letter and token payment - I dont think so!!! Told him I would deal with it, called stepchange and the lady laughed when I told her!! They are resending the letter again and hopefully this will be sorted soon. Im starting to feel loads better and that im in control of my money again!! Going on dmp has let me sleep at night again :-) thanks for all the help and support xx

Had a letter last week from MBNA confirming reduced payment of £x amount then a new statement drops through the letterbox. I decided to double check and make sure everything is all set up and rings MBNA.
"Yes we have the SC DMP number, etc... BUT note that after 7 months of "Default" payments your account may be passed onto a collection agency"
Sorry for being a bit silly, but what does this mean? Willa new DMP have to be arranged?
Can anyone shed light on this?

Hi Thamesmead, don't worry - deal with it if it happens, some of my creditors told me this too, I think its so they can refer you to collection agency if the payments don't continue or aren't enough. DMP is voluntary on both sides as you know, but seems if you keep your side mostly they keep theirs.

Come back here if any more worries

Congratulations Catandy - Fab news on the new job! :j:j

Well done on your DMP progress Anywayout. :D

I've done my own bit of money saving today. Had my car insurance renewal through and it had gone up quite a bit. So called them up and managed to get the cost right down. It didn't help that they told me ages ago that it wasn't costing me more to have one of my adult kids on the policy when in fact it was costing me lots more! Seeing that he moved out and hardly uses the car anymore it didn't make much sense to keep him on the policy so he's off and I have saved lots of pennies:money::D:D
