    Hello again..

Postman brought me 2 letters from RBS, one stating you have missed payment please call us etc etc.. so I thought I would even though they have cashed my cheque so I know they have received my letter. After 10 million security questions she informs me that I can ignore the letter as they have accepted the agreed payment from SC and sent a default notice and interest will be stopped..jump.gif

So 1 down 8 to go.....

Thank you to all you wonderful people on here, I finally feel like I'm getting my life back.

    love Puzz. xx

A couple of good bits of news for us today. My wife has been awarded a pay rise of around £40 per month, and the mortgage has dropped a little due to our present deal ending, so without actually doing anything, we're £55 a month better off!

Even though I'm still in the process of setting up the DMP, it's amazing how positive I feel compared with a week ago. I feel as though we're finally heading in the right direction.

    :T

Long term, the mortgage will need to be looked at, but that can wait for now while I get other things in place.
  • Hi Scouter,

Hello and welcome. My story is like yours and many others.
Good luck with your DMP Plan, like you just started ours.

    All the best

Thankyou for this, its much better then the one i wrote haha, ive printed it off and will send off today. fingers crossed they may do something!
when contacting the FOS what do you actually say and what info do they need? ive never had to deal with them before! x

The letter was adapted from a National Debtline template, they have some excellent letters for lots of situations. Check this out and scroll down to section 5, Sample letters:

The FOS are incredibly helpful and very friendly. You just explain the full situation, when you have contacted the bank, what you said/wrote, if you have had a response etc.

If you have previously asked them to stop interest and the bank have refused, depending on the dates, the FOS may be able to contact the bank of your behalf immediately.

They are open today so give them a call

    Good Morning..

Flurry of post this morning, I think my letters/ creditors letters and SC letters are all crossing in the post so I'm taking this action...

Natwest - Letter to confirm I have cancelled the dd to the loan and they have reinstated it. I have gone online and cancelled it again.. will see where that one goes as I only spoke to them yesterday..

Natwest CC - Have my letter and will hold account until here from SC.

Cap One - Have accepted plan.. :j but no mention of interest so will have to wait on that one, apparantly another letter is heading either my way or SC's way...

So no post now until monday so am going to enjoy my cheap weekend of charity shops and a girlie nite with a chinese..

Hope you are all doing ok..

    Love Puzz. x

  • Just thought I would share that halifax have accepted dmp for oh cc for a year and nationwide have accepted and froze interest which is due to be reviewed in 6 months. Finally a light at the end of the tunnel!

So glad to hear of peoples successes, getting interest frozen and the like. Sat and did all my letters and sent account numbers to StepChange tonight. I'm now a bit worried as some of my debt is from online gambling (I've never told anyone that, so feels good to say it), I have stopped now quite successful I think, I was going through some dark times. My worry is wether creditors are likely to look less favourably on this type of debt and not freeze the interst. Does anyone know if this is likely?

Well done for sharing, I think quite a few of us have tried to gamble our way out of the debt hole, me included, I don't think it will count against you.
