Just thought I'd check in and update. We are now seven months into our DMP and have paid £7000 off our debt. It feels so good.
Had a couple of tough months when things were really tight with unexpected bills but we got through it. We have a little emergency pot too now. All our creditors except sainsburys have frozen interest, they have now passed account to their internal recovery so maybe interest will be stopped.
I'm very careful with my pennies now, why oh why didn't I do this years ago. Can't wait to have my life back.0 -

Should of called SC but it's too late now and could wait till the morning but should I continue with a token payment or not bother as my DMP is under way with the first payments to be payed on 24/25th?
Have had a number of letters today that have crossed over in the post and the DMP being set up and I have responded to all so far by phone, should I carry on or should I put it in writing as well?
Well done. Id leave it. Just make sure you send the letter recorded delivery.

Really good news, thank you for sharing.

My good news is I unexpectantly got £96 from the nice people at the tax office. I am throwing it in the Barclaycard pot to clear that and good riddance to 12% interest.

and another update from me :-
I'm back to nominal payments of £1 a month to all creditor after losing my job again - back claiming JSA and living on the absolute breadline again. better than I was this time last year though because at least all the interest is frozen on all the accounts so the figures are coming down. Operation job search starts again in earnest today0 -
Really sorry to hear about your job loss Catandy, keeping everything crossed for you something comes along soon and good luck with the job hunt.
Good to see you are keeping positive though despite the bad news.

Morning everyone,
Just had to share... I've just updated my signature and it looks so much better now that we've paid off just over 41% of our debt - such motivation!... Looking forward to 50%;)
Take care
