Hi all, does anyone have any problems with next? My dmp is paid on time and then distributed to my creditors, however every month I get a red letter from next saying payment plan is stopped and late payment charges applied as I have missed a payment. I rang SC who say they are paid on time but take a long time to process the payment. So every month do I have to ring next for them to tell me not to worry they know about dmp and refund the charges? I'm getting a bi sick of ring them to be put on hold for 20 mins every month so they can refund charges and reinstate the plan!LBM Dec 2012 total debt 33,889 :eek:dmp started March 2013 DFD Dec 2024

Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping someone will be able to help us with a question.
We are expecting a baby and due to such a small house we were looking to move to a bigger house with a bedroom for this baby. We currently have 20k equity and would be wanting around 25k on top of the value of our house. Eg Mortgage balance 95k, value of house 115k and new house 140k. I've spoken with Stepchange and they have checked with their lender's (normal High Street lender's) and have replied to say their lender's are unable to help us at the moment.
Our question is: Does anyone know of any mortgage companies/broker's that will help out people on a DMP?
I'd really appreciate any assistance anyone could give.
Thanks0 -
Hello Hunnies
It is probably likely that due to your DMP, especially if there are defaults, that getting a larger mortgage will be very difficult. You could ask over on the house buying board as there are a couple of whole of the market brokers that post on there, who are generally very good with mortgage advice.

I'd be sending off that letter of complaint to them about it all making it clear that the payment from SC is made every month around the 25th and to sort it out. I'd also have a moan about you having to keep contacting them to sort this out on a monthly basis.

Life's a bit crap at the moment with serious worries about the threat of redundancy and my twin HH has given me official permission to be a miserable cow
Just wanted to wish you all the best with the job and that it is not the bad news. Having been through the wait to see if I kept a job myself last year, the not knowing is the worst but keeping everything crossed it doesn't happen.
In the meantime be as miserable as you like

Afternoon fellow DMPers. As previously mentioned I am trying to get through this month on a shoe string. Now OH's employers are sending him away for a few days and we have to fund this too:( He has to book his travel and then they will re-reimburse him but there's no spare money to do this so we are dipping into the £500 emergency overdraft. Not the end of the world, the bank won't care and the charges are very small. When I started on my DMP other posters said 'don't be tempted by the overdraft!' but I am glad we hung onto it as it has proved to be very useful. Just got to resist the temptation to spend it on stuff we want rather than stuff we really need.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421
