DMP & Mutual Support Thread - Part 9

I will go into town tomorrow and open a basic account away from the RBS group, and then as you say try to transfer money across to it as soon as it is paid in. A really big concern is that wonga continue to ignore me and 'take' £1007 on Saturday which won't be there.
I also looked up the Financial Conduct Authority who are crystal clear about the right to cancel a CPA. RBS people just seem to be ignoring it and saying there is nothing they can do.
Stomach churning. But I'm sure lots have been there before. Am glad you are 'sorted' sillymeme. And thanks (yet) again.0 -
I know I am rabitting on but I've researched basic accounts and Barclays come out best. AND also IF I open one tomorrow there may be a chance I can get our payroll to pay my salary into it on 15th August. Thats a week away but in the turmoil I hadn't realised this fact. This would mean that for next month I am not totally screwed IF wonga ignore me and pay a visit on Saturday.0

Hi and welcome Poundsandpence :hello:
It looks like you have been getting some good advice from sillymeme already. Good luck with getting your new account set up and your money transferred over.
I don't know anything about pay day loans but I do know you will get excellent help, advice, experience and support on this thread. I did when I first came here and still do from time to time, there is always someone here who has been in the same or a similar situation. Or sometimes it's just enough to have a bit of a rant when a creditor is giving you a bad time or your car is playing up or you have an unexpected expense and no emergency fund etc.
Sorry if the thank yous confused you. I like to see this thread busy because that means people are helping each other, so when I visit, I offer thanks to all postersLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Hi Growurown,
Self-managed with the help of North East Derbyshire Citizens Advice Bureau (NEDCAB) is one that I and others on here have done. It gives you full back up re letters, budgets etc, also a reference number you can quote when contacting creditors. Have a look at their website and see what you think. Good luck:)Had a look and it is very comprehensive. If TTFTM has used it - it must be good!
If I have it correct then the repayments are allocated pro rata according to the amount you owe. I will have to look at it carefully because the repayment might still work out too high for them to drop interest, and then there wouldn't be any point in changing.
I can't recommend it highly enough, it's a fantastic service.
A word of advice, the allowances are much more generous than those offered in StepChange's DMP so it's possible to pay less to creditors and allow yourself to save to pay off individual debtsLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Ah, I seeeee. And it's all really appreciated. I expect that some day soon I can be of assistance to someone here, even if it just means some hand-holding and someone to virtually talk to. Hopefully more.
I need to go to bed. Today started with a lengthy call with Payplan at 9am. There's nothing I can do with what's left of today.
Do people mind the blow-by-blow thing? It's just been a topsy-turvey day.0 -

We still have a long way to go but we are hoping to knock off a year from our debt free date which I know we can do.
I set myself small milestones along the way which keeps me totally focused, my next milestone is to have all our CC debts under the 4k mark (two to go)lilysmummy wrote: »Bit of good news in the post this morning, Ambrose Wilson have finally accepted the dmp from stepchange (via their in-house dca) and will not be charging any more service charges etc. So 19/21 creditors on board so far - just the dreaded Aqua to deal with!!! lol.
Stay positive everyone xx
Brilliant news Ellie and lilysmummy :T
Targets are a fantastic inspiration and definitely keep me going. My spreadsheet is full of them, next one being 40% paid by the end of August then next debt gone by end of September :j

Just by being here and becoming part of the mutual support, you will be of assistance to the group. No-one minds anything that is posted here, whatever works for you is ok for us.
The start of a DMP is a real emotional roller coaster, so get and get some well deserved sleep but first congratulate yourself for taking the first steps in your debt free journey :TLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Thanks TTFTM - milestones certainly help me, breaking the debt into chunks keeps me motivated as my DFD is still some way off. Each one passed spurs me onto the next and bit by bit the debt is reducing;)
My spreadsheets are my best friends:)Debt Free 1st March 2017
