    Gosh, what a day...

Work is stepping up a gear and I have so many deadlines to deal with and am having to cope with some very stroppy people.

Just had call from my son telling me my 18 mth old granddaughter has been admitted to hospital tonight suffering from norovirus (very dehydrated).

OH told that his company car is far from sorted...

and to top all that my head feels like its going to pop! Just taken some mega strong painkillers and I'll be off to bed as soon as they kick in.

Hoping that tomorrow is a better day :(

Have a great big hug from your DMP family.

  • Wishing your granddaughter a swift recovery Suseka and big hugs to you and the family.

I hope you get some news on the car soon. With everything that is happening to you at the moment, a perfect excuse to be stroppy back to those at work!

    Good luck with everything.

    Hi vampire-girl :hello:

If you have online banking, you can stop your payments using that, cancelling DDs and SOs etc is easy and that's the way I did all of mine.

Do you have a new account set up away from your debts? If so, I set up each new DD on the new account and cancelled it on the old account immediately afterwards.

Hope this is useful but shout out if you need more help :)

Thanks for replying, they're not DD but continuous payment authority, I sent the letters off to them and my bank have said they will look into it as well, as Step Change advise that any payments are now unauthorised. A few replied to say more or less fine, but one PDL company has been harassing me with constant phone calls and threats to drain what little money I have in my account.
Yes I set up Barclays Cash Card (basic account) received in 2 days just am waiting on the password for online banking. Oh thanks for reminding me I need to transfer my DD over to new card.
I haven't received my 'welcome pack/password' for StepChange yet though.
    Thanks for your help :)

Setting up and running finances is a job in itself, that is before you start a job that actually pays you!! Being on a DMP makes you look a bit differently at other people. I work with colleagues who stress about the smallest things. If they only knew that we have to scrimp and save every day and get snotty letters, calls and emails from pretty big corporations that need to be actioned ASAP - they don't know the half of it.
Keep your chin up, one day you will be debt free....
    Debts as of June 2012 - £68,986.35
    Now £27,470.20 :T

Thanks to all for your (((hugs))) and best wishes - really did help lift my mood.

Grand-daughter has been allowed to go home this afternoon, after a night attached to a drip -and, from what I hear, she appears to be well on the mend (phew). Never good when litteuns get that ill.

Company car man still playing games... grrr.

I've decided to take the next two days off work and have an elongated bank holiday. Either that or really let off steam at work and get myself in bother

Even though it seems the weather is going to be crap, I don't care. Need to give myself a little tlc and sort my head out again. Am coping okay with the letters and phone call thus far and keeping in touch on here makes a HUGE difference.

One good bit of news is that I'm setting up a 'cycle to work' thing and getting a new bicyclette :) nothing fancy and it'll cost just £23 per month, giving me an excess of £22 from my transport costs to set aside. Hopefully I'll lose some 'fat' poundage along the way and get just a wee bit fitter to boot. Silver lining and all that jazz.

Only just caught up with this but am really glad to hear your granddaugter is on the mend. It's so worrying when little ones are not well.

I am having next week off work. OH is marking exams over half term so I have decided to take the week off and try and get some stuff done at home. I like your idea of a little self TLC and may indulge in that too :)

How does the bicycle scheme work? I really want a new bike but I don't think they would believe I am going to cycle 80 miles a day :rotfl:
