Hi all not been on for a while, mainly because it kicked me out of my sign in and i couldnt remember my password,,,, doh!
DMP is going ok HBOS still applying interest to loan and showing on the Noddle account as late payment although AE. BC and Hfx are sending statements with no interest added although they said they would i am assuming it will be added at the end wen F&F but thats a long way off.
had a wobble at work but still got a job thnk goodness.
Been lurking as couldnt post and great to see so many making such progress. Will try and keep on line more now.LBM Sept 2012

Haven't been on in a while, DMP is pootling along. Only fly in the ointment is Lloyds who are still charging interest at the same amount each month of pretty much my DMP payment, so the balance is going nowhere
I need to get it sorted out, just lost the energy to fight tbh!
Have you written a letter of complaint to Lloyds?
If so, go straight to the FOS
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
Don't give up the fight please. Lloyds like to play hardball but they soon roll over with a little pressure from the FOS. We got interest frozen for 12 months plus interest charged since start of DMP refunded, this was on both an OD and a CC.

SATANDER (DEBENHAMS) £273

I called them today and there records were out of date from October last year. I think one was Jan. I still get monthly statements.
I am beginning to wonder why on earth I went with them in the first place. Shall I cancel and go my own way.
Checked my noddle. my score is 1/5 and I have a constant late payment with Satander. And three defaults from MBNA/TESCO AND RBS (rbs must be one of the credit cards cant remember which one)
Feel very down about it - trying to face up to it - but just in tears. I feel that this whole DMP was just a waste of time. I pay £125 a month to Churchwood. I want to start paying more (overtime) but would rather the money go straight to the creditors than saying to CWF i can pay more when in fact one month I might not get any overtime through work.
I rang the creditors and they said they would be happy to accept extra payments no matter how small.
I spoke to Churchwood and they said dont do that as the creditors will wonder where the extra money is coming from (overtime) and will ask to see my wage slips. Is this true?
Can someone please give me some solid advice. I am at my wits end.
I sold my car, I dont get any luxuries anymore as I feel guilty, I rarely go out - havent bought new clothes and when I have its cheap/ebay/primarni just to make it through the month and to make me look smart at work.
I take lunches, I use public transport but walk too - I just dont know what else I can physically do. I am exhausted I cant sleep, I'm constantly worrying and the thought of being under a train after work is getting more appealing by the month. tears now as I type. how can I get out of this bl00dy mess!Hi - I was wondering if I can get some advice please.
I have had my DMP with Churchwood financial for two years now and am happy with them. I couldnt get help with CCCS (Now stepchange) as I was told I had too much disposable funds at the end of my wages (£20...yes this is true) so in desperation I went with Churchwood.
Fast forward two years and my personal circumstances have changed for the better (wahoo) my creditors were good and interest and charges were dropped/stopped.
I am wondering whether it would be best for me to stop paying churchwood and revert back to paying monthly myself direct with the creditors - would the interest then start again?? OR would I best best to start paying extra on top on the DMP payments to clear the debt quicker
Does anyone know how long after defaulted I need to be clear for (Santander told me a year) and how can I get my credit back healthy?
Thanks everyone.

Hi
This is the first time I've posted on this thread though I've long read it because of the help and support posters offer each other. I'm on a self-managed DMP mainly because I didn't know this site existed when I started out, when I was at my lowest point and sobbing down the phone to a woman at a bank...
You will get this sorted. You are already making inroads and you're on your way to better times. If you want to vary payments, doing it yourself may be the best option. Or, if it seems a bit much for you right now, why not go onto a FREE DMP with StepChange or one of the other charities? You will know all your payments are going to the creditors and if you do find you have extra money through overtime, you could either save it towards paying off some debts completely or use it to raise your regular payment amount gradually?
Why not ring StepChange and ask the best way to leave the fee-paying debt company? I think the advice is to write to them recorded delivery telling them you;re cancelling your agreement and then stopping the payment, If you set things in motion with SC you'll know your creditors aren't going to be left in the dark.
Take care of yourself too. You will get through this. Six years ago, I owed £52,000. It's now about £11,000. Things will get better.0 -
Today is a good day! It's been less than a week since I got info from Step Change and so far I have done everything (new bank account etc). Just waiting for it all to be set up. I have contacted the creditors and all but 4 of them replied to me within the space of 4 hours. I just emailed them the template I received from SC. The ones who have replied have agreed to put a hold on my account and freeze the interest until they hear from SC. The responses have been positive so far.
I am so glad I made this decision. Usually, the week before pay day I agonise over the coming month, now I feel a lot more hopeful!LBM March 2013 DFD August 2016

This is good news. Well done. It encourages me to get on with mine. I've applied for new bank account but haven't heard anything yet and I've been putting off dealing with the rest of it - very nervous about contacting creditors but I will do it tomorrow.0 -

I read your first post and your thread about your debt and it's great to see you being so positive now. It's a funny thing with debt, isn't it? It can make your life a misery and you worry yourself sick over it, but when you finally start dealing with it the clouds really do lift.0 -

I was nervous too. Nervous about the repercussions, but what's the worse that could happen!? I don't think I have slept this well in ages and that is not just me pretending to be happy, it was the BEST decision I made.
I set a new bank account up online because I was so embarrassed to walk in somewhere and them decline me for a basic account! I read that it can take up to 2 weeks sometimes. I kept calling them and saying that I wanted to pay my salary in asap and they were really quick to set it up for me. It took 3 days from the time I applied online for me to receive my bank card and today I received my pin.
Contacting the creditors.... ah yes, I was nervous yesterday. But I thought I had put it off long enough (and I also knew that next Monday I get paid and then the phonecalls will start). I just emailed them and to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by the niceness of their responses. I half expected their replies to be snotty. A few of them (I have 14 creditors) even said that they were sorry I was facing such a difficult time. Sometimes we can worry ourselves over something that might happen, but the reality is not that bad.
Go for it! Everyone on here will be there to support you!LBM March 2013 DFD August 2016

Hi again all. Just a note to say Good Luck to all newbies. A little update . Four payments to Stepchange and out amount owed has only increased so far. Halifax have now stopped charges (we think). MBNA stopped interest, Barclaycard stopped interest and lloyds TSB playing some sort of ball.
I will get there. We struggle each month and thats with OH doing OT. It does feel better though knowing we are dealing with it. Thanks to all who post here. Will get there eventually.0
