Exactly. Get yourself out of this mess as quickly and as painlessly as possible. Either that or fight it but I think you'll end up losing I'm afraid.0

Ah well I guess the moral of the story is not to do people favours and to let them sell their own stuff.
I think i might have just found the ebay listing....
Did you put in the advert "*SELLING FOR MY FATHER IN LAW SO APOLOGIES IF THERE IS A DELAY IN RESPONDING TO ANY QUESTIONS*"?
And if thats not it, can you link to the advert?0 -

Price doesn't match - and i would not advise anyone to give their Ebay ID on here.0 -
Ah well I guess the moral of the story is not to do people favours and to let them sell their own stuff.
There are certain areas this is more true than others....
Dealing in currency, precious metals, specially taxed items like alcohol, petrol AND used cars.
Given your fiance's father owns a dealership it just entangles you further.
Its one thing to say fill up your father's car after you borrow it.... it's another to supply cheap fuel to his friend, even if all you are doing is driving 30 miles to buy it at a petrol station that's cheaper, filling containers and bringing them back!0 -
Other things do though - hes from the same town and its the only car of that price that mentions being sold for someone else
No other cars 1999 V8 Discovery's match
It wasn't the one, I never mentioned FIL. Anyway it's all sorted now. We've moved on thank you all for your views/help0 -

I offered a full refund or £700 refund for him to fix it.
He went with the £700 option and thanked me for sorting it. So I guess he's happy.0 -
Have read this thread with interest, glad the problem is sorted for all concerned.0
