Unreasonable Delivery Times

I know my great nan used to have a carer arrive in the morning to help her get up, get showered and dressed etc.
The carer would turn up at 8, and it would easily be 90 minutes before my great nan was washed, dressed and ready for the day. It was fairly impossible for her to get up and ready early, and if it was necessary for her to be, it would cost extra for a carer, or a family member would take a morning off work to do it.
It could be the same for the OP, that a morning appointment simply throws up far too many issues, when it would be easy enough for the company to be more flexible.
I know personally, I wouldn't want a delivery that early as it would wake my kids up early and I'd be faced with two big grumps all day!
I agree, that could be the reason, but not all us "disableds" are the same!

Didn't get a chance to ask them for anything, all I got was an email saying when the delivery will be, which said it was an automated email and replies to it would be ignored.
Why is the delivery time not acceptable, well I thought I covered that in my original post when I said that my wife and I are disabled, or do you want the personal and medical reasons why we can't be at the front door at 7am without considerable difficulty?
I have managed to contact them and explained that this is not convenient and the attitude was incredible, I was met with "Well that is when we do our deliveries" and similar statements, is nothing actually done to the convenience of the customer anymore? After much debate I was finally told that I will have to wait a further three days then and they will try! But as you say if the "Try" does not achieve my requirement I will cancel it under the distance selling right to cancel without explanation. The only reason I posted was to ask the simple question as per my post and which Visidigi seems to have errrrr politely covered
What disability do you both have that one of you can't answer the door at 7.00am but will be able to do so at 8.00am?0 -
Unless you have a carer that arrives at 9am or something, then I still don't see why 7am is unreasonable!
I LOVE it when couriers turn up that earlier, and they never seem shocked when I open the door looking like I've been dragged backwards through a hedge!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Not implying that you are. Merely stating that if the OP's inability to open the door at a specific time is disability related, then perhaps the reasoning was due to having a carer who comes at a certain time.0 -
I would love to have a 30 minute delivery slot! Who are these paragons?0

Wow. Just wow. You asked a question, first reply answered said question only 2 minutes after you posted but still you think a rude and abrupt response is suitable? If you gave the company the same bad attitude i'm not surprised they didnt do anything (over and above what they need do) to help.Saving money like a trouper...0 -
The delivery route will have been worked out the most economical way and probably taking drivers' breaks into consideration.
If they have a large area to deliver to they wont want to keep doubling back and covering miles they have already done. They are not doing it to be awkward and its not their fault it doesn't suit you.
Our Argos deliveries are always at 7 - 7.30am as we are quite close the the distribution centre which works fine for us.
Its defintely better than when the only clue you got was the date and it could be any time between 7am and 9pm.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140
