Unreasonable Delivery Times

This is the second time this has happened to us, my wife and I are disabled and we have just purchased a new freezer and today I received an email saying they want to deliver it between 7am and 7:30 am. This is just not acceptable for us and we wondered if there were any regulations which requires suppliers to deliver at a reasonable hour?

Simple answer extended to cover the short reply limits....
No.
But you can ask them for an alternative.0 -

Cancel and order from somewhere else. Personally I'd love that delivery slot.0 -
Just don't open the door and they'll have to rearrange! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If it's too late for you have you asked them for an earlier delivery?0

Why is the delivery time not acceptable?0 -

Didn't get a chance to ask them for anything, all I got was an email saying when the delivery will be, which said it was an automated email and replies to it would be ignored.
Why is the delivery time not acceptable, well I thought I covered that in my original post when I said that my wife and I are disabled, or do you want the personal and medical reasons why we can't be at the front door at 7am without considerable difficulty?
I have managed to contact them and explained that this is not convenient and the attitude was incredible, I was met with "Well that is when we do our deliveries" and similar statements, is nothing actually done to the convenience of the customer anymore? After much debate I was finally told that I will have to wait a further three days then and they will try! But as you say if the "Try" does not achieve my requirement I will cancel it under the distance selling right to cancel without explanation. The only reason I posted was to ask the simple question as per my post and which Visidigi seems to have errrrr politely covered0 -
So what would you class as a reasonable hour, and reasonable to who? 7.30 would be perfectly reasonable to me and most people.
If it's not suitable and you can't come to an arrangement, or you won't come to an arrangement with them take a chance elsewhere. But it's not an unreasonable hour to most, so no regulations will cover it.0 -

To be fair to Slowhand, I also wondered the same thing. I am disabled and hate waiting, to be told that someone would be with me at 7am would be excellent - get it out the way and then I have the rest of the day to do what I need to (which may include going back to bed!). You cannot assume that every disabled person feels the same as you.0 -

I know my great nan used to have a carer arrive in the morning to help her get up, get showered and dressed etc.
The carer would turn up at 8, and it would easily be 90 minutes before my great nan was washed, dressed and ready for the day. It was fairly impossible for her to get up and ready early, and if it was necessary for her to be, it would cost extra for a carer, or a family member would take a morning off work to do it.
It could be the same for the OP, that a morning appointment simply throws up far too many issues, when it would be easy enough for the company to be more flexible.
I know personally, I wouldn't want a delivery that early as it would wake my kids up early and I'd be faced with two big grumps all day!0 -
If it's inconvenient for you, next time shop somewhere that means you can pay extra to choose a delivery slot. Unfortunately, disabled or not, if a company does not offer a choice of delivery slots, you get what you're given. Plenty of places will happily offer the service you require for a premium.
Other than that, as said above, ignore the delivery, say you weren't in, and they'll have to rearrange. The risk is that they will rearrange to an equally inconvenient time, and then charge you for a second delivery.0
