Hollande? Is he a cheese eating surrender monkey?0 -
Oh I fully appreciate the liklihood of this happening is extremely rare, I just didn't want to be leaving myself open on the insurance front if it was possible to cover against it, which seems unlikely looking at the replies (all of which I really appreciate by the way).
I'm really excited for this holiday
It is not so much Japan vs. China that would be the problem but the resulting "fall out", I'm not sure how accurate this is but I believe Japan was somewhat de-militarised as part of its surrender in WW2, but that America has certain obligations to help them if they are attacked, clearly the US doesn't want to go to war with China, so that in itself should keep things at bay, if it all kicks off then its likely Russia would support China and then... well. I think that would probably be the end of us all0 -

The U.S are not just scared of the Chinese military, they're in hock to the chinese for over $1trillion. If China called in the debt or just stopped lending them money it would have massive consequences for the U.S0 -

The US isn't obligated to do anything it doesn't want to. Regardless of a bit of paper they may have signed, they will NOT go to war with China. End of!0 -
If World War III started I think there would be bigger things to worry about than my holiday being cancelled.0

I was thinking the same and if by chance OP was on holiday in japan and war broke out, what would the OP expect the insurer to do0 -
