Travel insurance in the event of war?

I won't start a debate on the liklihood of Japan going to war with China but there are tensions there - and I'm due to go on holiday to Japan in March/April.
Are there any sensible precautions I can take regarding insurance? I usually use Insure and Go for travel insurance but I can't see any reference to what happens if I have to abandon a holiday due to war (it mentions civil disturbance but I'm pretty sure thats not the same thing).
Do insurers normally cover in those circumstances?
Actually are there any other sensible precautions I should take?

Check the Foreign & Commonwealth Office website for advice to travellers before you go. Also ensure you know where the nearest embassy or consulate is to ensure you know where to report for evacuation should the situation become serious.0 -

From what I can see it doesn't specify that it excludes war, so they'd have to cover it. The only time it wouldn't be covered is if you travelled there knowing a war had started/was about to start.
Though there is as much chance of Japan and China going to war as there is of France declaring war on us. I.e. none. Worst case scenario is there'll be a little scuffle on the disputed islands, neither will invade the mainland of the other.0 -
In my experience no insurance policy covers acts of war, except the special insurance policies provided for servicemen.0

I know you didnt want to start a debate, but is there ANY possibilty of a war between China and Japan in the next 2 months?0

"4. Any claim that happens as a result of war, invasion,
revolution, rebellion, act of foreign enemy or any similar
event (except for any which the public did not know about
at the time of purchase of this insurance and/or for annual
multi trip policies prior to the booking of any individual
trip). Please note that this exclusion does not apply to
Section B – Medical expenses"

The clue is they have a definition of war in their "Definitions" thus
"War
War, whether declared or not, or any warlike activities, including
using military force to achieve economic, geographic,
nationalistic, political, racial, religious or other goals"
I can't see there being a war as it would be incredibly one sided.0 -
I think I'd risk it.0

You might think that but cast your mind back to Korea. The standard of the Chinese military was very poor. That's the problem when you have so many men, you treat them like cannon fodder.0
