Need more info to switch - how would you rate your supplier?

Options
Hi everyone,

I've just moved into a new place and looking to select my supplier for gas & power (will probably go through one supplier to keep it simple!)

So I would like to ask everyone on here a couple of simple questions to help me with my decision...

1) Who is your current gas or power supplier
2) What rating would you give them out of 10?
3) What did they do to earn this rating?

I'm after good stuff as well as bad and hopefully if I get a few responses it should give a good indication of which supplier to choose!

Thanks in advance if you choose to help me out!

Tom.

    Tom.

There's a thread for every supplier where MSE'ers give feedback on their experiences.

Alternatively, many comparison sites have supplier ratings too.

Or here is how Which? rate them according to thir survey of more than 10,000 customers:

    http://www.which.co.uk/switch/energy-suppliers/energy-companies-rated

To be honest, they are all much of a muchness.
I've been with nPower & EDF (the bottom 2 according to Which?) and Ebico (rated 2nd) and Ovo (rated 5th) and I would not pay a significant premium for any one compared to another. Just go with the cheapest (unless you already have a good reason not to)
You do tend to get a more personal feeling when dealing with a small supplier; a sense they do really value your custom and are closer to the action compared to the large call centres the big suppliers use.
The advanatge of the big suppliers call centres is they tend to be open longer hours, if not 24/7

Ultimately, it's the same gas & electricity coming through the same pipes & wires no matter which supplier you choose.
