Maybe you need to do a software upgrade, or its just that the set does not support the BBC iPlayer, was it sold as having an iPlayer app?
Just copied this from AV forums hope it helps.
'Whilst the Bush claims to be a 'Smart TV', compared to the all-singing, all-dancing platforms on offer from the likes of Samsung, LG and Panasonic, the Bush system is positively backward. It is the kind of platform that would have graced a cutting edge TV three years ago but these days you can get better functionality on a Blu-ray player. Our first challenge was actually getting into the smart platform, which was ultimately achieved by pressing a small button with a house icon on it; we did say the remote control wasn't very intuitive. Once in you have a choice of five apps - the BBC iPlayer, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Picasa - and that's it!That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Does the TV have an internet browser? If it does, you should be able to get any website and set them as favourites.
Or is it like the Toshiba I bought last month and returned to the shop as it didn't have a browser at all, despite the shop saying it did?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Don't know about your Bush TV specifically, but the answer seems to be above, the little Home button, and do make sure the software is up to date.
Just a general warning that 'smart' TV is a very general term, and doesn't guarantee a web browser (most of which are rubbish anyway) or iPlayer. You need to check specifically that it'll do what you want it to do. Smart TV can be applied really to any TV with internet connectivity or installable apps.0 -
Hi

Is there not a facility for adding new applications? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Looked for it cannot find it yet
will give it another go0 -
I'd be tempted to return it on the grounds that it doesn't do what it says on the tin and swap it for a well known, non supermarket brand. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Try going into the settings and make sure that you have your country set to 'United Kingdom' - I had this issue with a Philips. Hope that does the trick - if not take it back. From a general google search the Smart functions aren't very smart!
I do think Smart TV's are an interesting notion. You pay £X extra for the Smart functions but are given no guarantee how long they will remain or if they will be updated. I had a Freeview box a few years ago that had Smart features - the company discontinued updates two years ago and the box was useless shortly afterwards.
The brain of most Smart TV's are akin to that of a mid-range smart phone which means that if Iplayer (or any other app) changes the coding of there software the TV also needs to be updated. You also wonder how long the TVs will remain usable with the speed that technology is advancing. For many Smart TV's the apps are slimmed down versions of the full service website and as such you may loose some functionality.
I would always recommend forgoing the smart TV and purchasing either a well known add-on box (such as Apple TV), a low budget laptop/ netbook/ tablet with HDMI out to link to your TV or a standard computer built for use with a TV (as in a 'tower' with remote & keyboard that plugs into your TV). The great thing about having a netbook/ laptop/ tablet is that it is usable when not connected to your TV.
All just my opinion and I am sure others will disagree. My user name is SkyInsider... I worked for Sky quite some time ago, also worked for Virgin Media and a few other tech companies as a consultant. All views are my own0 -
Model number would help.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

You cannot reject the goods because an application is on available on that platform. This is just software after all and a complaint subsequent to purchase would only work using DSR (not SOGA), requiring a recent mail order purchase.0
