Seasoned hardwood for multifuel stove

We have recently had installed a multifuel stove and would like to burn mainly wood on it and the occasional peat briquettes. We would prefer not to use coal.
What is a reasonable price to pay for a cubic metre of seasoned hardwood, delivered, and can anyone recommend a provider in the West Midlands?

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Varies quite wildly.
Also you'll find a lot of people telling you they sell a cubic metre of wood and it is no where near.
arbtalk.co.uk has a firewood forum and supplier list that might help.0 -

We don't particularly want to burn peat, but we got some free when we bought the stove.:)
We would just rather burn wood (and in fact have now set the stove up as a woodburner).(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Good luck with that, if you are paying for wood it's not cheap.0 -

Yes we are paying, we know it is not cheap, but we wanted to be using a renewable resource, albeit in a tiny way, we still use the gas central heating, the stove is to heat two rooms (dining room and kitchen), so we use two less radiators, and when it is not quite so cold hopefully the stove is all we will use.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

If I had gch, I would only use that. Wood has got to be three times dearer then gas at least0
