Phone/credit?

I've been into a well known mobile phone shop today and bought the n95 phone with an orange contract no problem. Then the wife decides she wants a new phone, so we go back to the same shop and she picks out the phone she wants, the staff do a credit check that passes but their printer only prints out one receipt and apparently they need two! so they say they have to do the credit check again! and guess what? it's declined so we can't have the phone. I went to the orange phone shop and explained to them what had happened and the said it was because they had done two credit checks in a short period of time and that when the check came out as a pass and their printer played up they should have rang up and done it manually. We really what that phone on that contract and we believe it's the phone shops fault, but they are saying there is nothing they can do. Any advice?

if i was you i'd kick up a stink with speaking to the manager, if that doesn't work ask for customer services phone number 'a squeaky door always gets seen to first... ' at the end of the day they can't just say there's nowt they can do, it was their mistake..

There's also the problem that they've messed up your wife's credit file a little bit by doing two checks in such a short space of time. They should speak the the credit reference agencies and remove one of those at the very least. I would also ask to speak to a manager as that's outrageous incompetance.

The wife and I have been in to complain and they have admitted it was there fault, but they say there is nothing they can do, so we got the head office number and got the same reply!!!!!0

Hi pitbullpeebs,
I would write an official letter of complaint to their head office as a letter often wields better results than a phone call.
