Hi ntb1 a word of advice be vary wary of Fuel Genie as 1 they offer 0 discount on the price there and also the company who supply all supermarkets (Harvest Energy) got a 5 million pound plus fine for not meeting the minimum british standards on fuel if you want to use morrisons e.t.c. then go for fastfuels (texaco) 2000 + sites on a bulk price no hidden charges
Thanks we've used Fuel Genie for 5+ years now and not had any isses, we don't have any texaco garages near us that i'm aware off. fairly rural area only have 2 morrisons in 30 miles0 -
Another to abandon the good ship Allstar. A small charity based in Walsall, we couldn't justify paying the additional transaction fee on top of an admin fee on fuel where no discount was being obtained in the first place. We've gone back to giving our drivers fuel floats which are topped up as and when.
If Allstar/Arval revoke the charge we'd reconsider but there has to be an advantage to holding such an account and I struggle to see what that is.0 -

I work with a charity and we are using one (not sure who with) but has no charges and becasue of what we use the vehicles for no VAT either its branded as a governement one of some description0 -
Allstar were sold out several months ago along with the Shell Card. The businesses do have a caveat within their T&C's to levy this surcharge. I am surprised no one picked this up as I cancelled my account in April when it went through.
You may have noticed, but a lot of garage pumps are going through a new Chip and Pin system. This is so you put your card in at the pump. This is the reason they gave for levying the charge. Basically to justify the cost of updating so many pumps.
Could you look to attack it as an unfair contract term?0 -
Hi,
Sorry but I am venting my anger at Allstar, we have used them for a number of years, we are a small business. I noticed that the costs had increased over and above the pump price.
I called and was told that there is another surcharge, which is 6p a litre, based on an independent credit score. Forget that we have paid without fail every week, that is irrelevant.
The surcharge is not a separate cost on the invoice but applied to the fuel cost so essentially hidden to those that don't have time to scrutinise every invoice.
Another fee for everyone to be wary of! and no we didn't get a letter!

Fuel Cards
Hi there, I was wondering whether you have ever had any dealings with UK Fuel Cards? I'm switching from Allstar after years of disillusionment and have trawled through ringing most of the people on your list. My wife and I are looking to expand the company and then retire (if only it was as easy as that!!), so we're looking to save what we can, and UK Fuel Cards rates seem the lowest yet.
All opinions welcome. Don't want to end up getting ripped off again as with Allstar!
Cheers,
Richard0 -
They are a bunch of scammers. My account Manager for my fuel cards was [Removed] offered me so many cards for free and after the 2nd week the price shot up and then his own colleague called me without knowing im with them already [Removed] and offered me a 6p cheaper price. I rang keyfuels up directly to ask if Certas Energy provide them fuel and they rejected there claim. STAY AWAY FROM THESE IDIOTS. I AM LOOKING TO CLAIM MY MONEY BACK FROM THESE MUGS AS THEY OVERCHARGED ME.0
