but has there ever been anything your lights have illuminated that you would not have seen otherwise?
I'm not sure i'm gonna miss them... i doubt my front fogs will ever get much use either...0 -
There are different technical solutions to this. Some vehicles have a small side light coming on some may actually swivel. Can see the safety and convenience though ( haha). I haven't encountered a Seat coming the other way so can't comment - mighty be that there is a delay before they go out or you were on a long bend? Becoming more popular now like auto lights and wipers a little while back. The convenience is really for the driver inside rather than looking non odd to those outside.
I find sitting behind a car with the brake light on dazzling me much more annoying. Always tempted to put BOTH my headlights on but I don't think it would occur to the driver what the problem was...0 -
I'm sick of people saying "you've left your lights on mate" when I get out of my car.
Auto headlights that switch off when I lock the car.0 -
The local plod have been pulling people over in my locality for having fog lights on, would these 'cornering lights' also fall foul of the police? From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
Totally agree. As has been mentioned before, the Nissan [STRIKE]Qashqai[/STRIKE] Juke?has 3 levels of lights, looks like a spaceship. And DRLs have been discussed to death - they look like some cheap boy racer addition and will probably cause more accidents by dazzling people than prevent accidents by making the car look more visible.
But these 'cornering' lights just look silly. I'm sure some come on when going over 10mph as I had an Audi tailing me through some roundabouts and we never went that slow but his cornering lights still worked as expected. I can understand lights that turn when the car turns, like Citroen were pioneering a few years back, but winking a fog light/lower light on, well, it's a bit [STRIKE]crude[/STRIKE] VAG isn't it.
I currently drive the latest model Kia Cee'd, because it's great, and I'm not a 'badge buyer'.
It has proper cornering lights built into the headlamp units/clusters, they work a treat, especially good down dark country lanes etc.And that my son, is how to waft a towel!0 -

I'm surprised so many German car drivers find them a problem because they only come on when you indicate.
The more lights on a kia the better as the headlights are like candles0 -

Really? Which model are you referring to?
Or are you just assuming that a South Korean car (yes, South Korea, probably now the World leader in electronics, Samsung, LG...) can't possibly have lights as good as a German car?And that my son, is how to waft a towel!0 -
My Outlander has cornering headlights too.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
