Having emptied mount ironmore, I am sitting here sipping a glass of very cold sparkling shiraz, fizzy red wine, it should be very very wrong, but actually it tastes rather nice!

    Hi Gang,
and thank you all for your good wishes I have had a great day and really have been spoiled by my lovely family and friends.I have just got back from DDs house where we had a great dinner and a lovely chocolate cake with candles on :):):) The boys were fantastic and the youngest Mikey gave me a bracelet that he picked from the 'treats box' as his house 'Vikings' won the merits for the week and he got to pick out a treat He found a pink sparkly bracelet with stars on and he assured his teacher and his pals it was for his Granny as it was her birthday, and not for him :):):) I have worn it all evening and will wear it when I go out to dinner on Saturday night with his big sis Katie and her fiancee.

I went to my hairdressers house to get a trim this afternoon as I was disappearing behind a mop of hair and when I went to pay her she said I can't take your money as Tess (my DD) had popped in that morning and already paid her.I had so many lovely things including a gorgeous sparkly soft cashmere cardi that I will also wear on Saturday night.

I can't believe how many thing I have been given and how kind folk are. Eldest DD has got tickets for us both to go and see 'Wicked' in London in April plus a slap up meal for us both.I had lots of lovely smelly bits from my grandchildren and chocolates and sweets and I only have until next week to eat them :) as my Lent promise is to give up sweets, chocolates and puddings until Easter.
By the way the coffee that Danny gave me with the caramel flavour is to die for
He is in Newcastle for a couple of days now and has gone out for a curry tonight at a well know place in the city centre He will be home sometime on Saturday and I will see him then
Right I'm off to pour myself a nice glass of wine and put my feet up its been quite a day today
    Cheers chums

    Evening
Didnt get to post or catch up yesterday, upside did meet a friend and had lovely chat and a book swap so now have 3 more books to read.
Work was busy today but I managed to leave with an empty in tray. very pleased wind had dropped got home easier than last few days, pedalling against 25mph wind is hard work.
OS dinner was casserole done in SC, DW emptied and reloaded, will put on tomorrow when full. No clothes washing not enough for a load. Have made a list, done a meal plan and will go to Ald! tomorrow, want to buy a bottle of wine as a treat for when we go to visit DD, might try one you say is nice Jools. No packed lunches needed tomorrow. Remembered to change timer today on lamp at top of stairs, its staying light later so dont need it on at 4 now.
    Thoughts to all.

Jackie, sounds like you had a great day, glad you were spoiled, you deserve it! You will love Wicked, me and DD saw it 3 years ago for her birthday treat, in fact that was our last jaunt to London, think we may be overdue for a visit!
Tina, hope the visit went well, have a good break with your mum!

belated happy birthday JackieO, glad that you are appreciated by your family, you deserve it!

Tina, hope that your visit went well and that you are spoiled rotten in Donegal for the weekend

Still very cold here, think that we have an airlock in water system as we have no hot water and some of the radiators are cold...will tell OH tomorrow as only discovered it to-night.

Haven't been swimming at all this week as have had some kind of kidney infection....will see how I am to-morrow, as miss it when I don't go at least twice a week.

Dinner to-night was ham with cabbage, swede and potatoes, really nice, we had cake for pudding....not going to make any more now until middle of next week in preparation for the ravenous family the following weekend.

DGD2 was 8 today, with just 4 days between granddaughters 1 and 2, I am still surprised at the difference between them....1 is tall and blonde and 2 is small and dark and the personalities have no similarities at all.

Brought Bran over for a few hours as he will not go into his kennel, nor under large table in DD4's garden, he was sopping, the silly beggar, but he and Mossy had several nice tussles so all was well.

    Take care LW.

    Stay safe and warm everyone.
