O/S Daily Thursday 7th Feb 2013 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all,
just got up to let the girls out. Ive just put the heating on too as i know my son is struggling to get up on cold mornings. He usually gets up around 6.30 and takes a shower but the heating doesnt come on until 7.45 (nice timing Dad) so i have switched it on early for him.
Jobs for today include:
Bathroom
[STRIKE]Vacuum downstairs[/STRIKE]
Clean cooker
[STRIKE]Wash and change bedding[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Laundry (lots of it)[/STRIKE]
Tea - will have to be something hubby can eat as the dentist cant fix him up until tomorrow and he cant chew. (i might do him cheese and potato pie, i just cant face it myself so i might cook something seperate for me and our son cause he aint a fan of mash either.
Have a good day all :-)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning Judi & all who cross/follow
I'm showered, fish fed no other chores need doing this morning, I'm off to work soon.
There is a thick frost here this morning so I've sprayed the car windscreen, hopefully it will clear soon.
I do an indoor duty today, hooray, all I have to contend with is kids throwing food, deep joy.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Judi and Hester and all who follow,
Hug to all who need or want one.
It is freezing here this morning, I will have to wear an extra jumper to work as the room that i do most of my teaching in has very dodgy heating.
Tea tonight is left over curry from yesterday, made with the left over (and frozen) turkey from Christmas. How's that for OS!
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Now getting light, drying underfoot as it rained heavily during the evening and into the night, still very blustery too.
DH up and off to work stupid early. Think I've got the cold/sore throat/blocked nose that all the menfolk have had, throat feels horrid this morning, will get some vitamin c to take.
Dinner last night was a very naughty takeaway - eaten and enjoyed by us all - got back late from our appointment so didn't feel like cooking or have time by then.
Yesterday work was ok - course had loads to digest, lots of changes to legislation. After training had a staff briefing and there's consultation for several departments on at the moment, there's several redundancies within that. We haven't been told anything officially but it's looking likely our dept will be looked at again (3rd time in 2 years!) at some point this year - more likely to be towards the back end of the year. Really need to get stuck into being as OS as possible now so we're in as good a position as possible for if the worst happens.
Will be getting stuck into the chores today - have a huge washing mountain - certainly need to get that done, will try to get it washed, dried and ironed today, will also print out the flylady list and do as much off there as is possible too.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all,
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday to JackieO have a great day xxx
Cold and frosty here too, just watching a blackbird squeezing himself into my window feeder, its a tiny one for the small birds, and despite there being plenty of food on the big birds table he insists on squeezing onto the tiny one :rotfl:he can hardly move in there, and the food goes everywhere.
Got a wash on, and will get it on the line, these last few days have been great for drying.
Butterfly, hope you are ok xx
Going to have a good tidy round ths morning my mind is much calmer when my house is tidy so will do that then take the dog out for a walk.
Have good days all xxx0 -
Morning all,
Happy Birthday JackieO I'm sure you will be thoroughly spoilt by your lovely family:D
So lost a pound at Ww last night, left dh in charge of the meatballs all he had to do was make pasta and stir through some pesto. He stirred through passata  nothing else said it tasted awful, I'm not surprised. So they ended up eating meatball sandwiches  I'd maybe about 25 meatballs, for three of us, left me 5 little meatballs on a plate. I ended up with cheese on toast, men!
Bright and frosty here this morning. Off out with dh this morning. No idea what's for tea, maybe the gammon we should have had on Monday. Still no crb but the cheque has come out of the bank so fingers crossed.
Need to pick a pressi for my db whose birthday is Sunday. Will visit him tomorrow night he's making a chilli for tea.
Anyway best get on, have a good day all keep warm.

Washing machine drum is now a BBQ, glass from door is a planter for herbs
Just had the mortgage statement, payments for the next year are going up by 4p per month
I said I was going to turn my practice bit of crocheting into a cushion cover, mr tru said it was a good idea and thinks we need more colour in the lounge anyway. He's going to regret saying that – I've started making loads of covers in all sorts of colours, even pink and I don't do girly colours, ever :rotfl:Bulletproof0 -

Morning all and Happy Birthday Jackio.
It's been a lovely week so far, there were no major meetings, no panics with my son, lots to look forward to, the rush of work to meet the end of January deadline was met and I've been concentrating on de-cluttering. Lots of stuff to charity shops, a little to the dump and a select few bits and pieces set aside for ebaying. Today I will take another load to the dump and then go visit my son for a walk and lunch out. I have an old school friend visiting for the weekend, so must clean the bathroom and dust and vacuum downstairs too. The spare room is done already. I've planned the meals for her visit and got the veg at the market. Need also to bake a cake (German Apple Cake) for us to snack (gorge!) on. She has had a really, really tough time in the last couple of years and although she's the strongest person I know even she has crumbled once or twice, so I want to make it a really special weekend for her to chill in.
I think my OH must have a point that stress can become a habit as I've nothing to stress about but still cannot shut my brain up when I go to bed. It's a pain, but compared to all that happened in the last year or so it's really not a big deal.
Warm hugs to all who are facing any kind of difficulties or sadness.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0
