    Why 'A'?

My ginger cat was called Jaffa.
  • The latest rescued cat I got is a ginger and I decided being "orange" that Tizer was a good name ... (remember Tizer pop ... ?!) ... not one I've heard before for cats but it does suit him ... !

For an A name ... hmmmm ... what about Aristotle and Ari for short ... ?!

I think the scottish names go well, being ginger, Angus or Archie, or -obviously not beginning with A - Mactavish.

I would wait until you meet him and had him a couple of days and see his personality.

That is what I do with mine. I also try a few different names to see what reaction I get. When we got our Megan I really wanted to call her Cleo I tried it and she jumped off the bed and ran away :( OH called her Megan and she walked over to him and sat on his lap.

Pretty much all of mine have choosen their own name (I know I know it sounds so stupid) but believe me it works like a charm.

Another example was when we got our Sophie we had tried several names on her no response. Two days later I got a text from OH at work telling me she was a Sophie because every time he called her that she gave a thumbs up (she is a polydactal).

But a few other suggestions for you Alcide (True Blood), Arnold, Austin, Amigo (Spanish for friend), Alastair, Azazeal (one of the fallen angels)
