.. and the fact that she has a penis for a nose.

Wow, you really have to be looking for it to come to that conclusion!

I highly doubt that kids will think that as the first thing that comes to their mind

There are some excellent programs for young kids on TV, so good in fact they are (or used to be) shown at school during relevant projects. Does anyone remember "Come Outside" with Pippin the dog and Auntie Mabel? That was one of my kids' favourites, we used to watch it religiously and it sparked off lots of activities for them even before they went to school. And pre Telly Tubbies we had Playdays as the anchor am program, which was also a really useful source of add on activities. My kids now watch How It's Made and Brainiac instead, but they're the same sort of thing really. Nothing wrong with a bit of telly as long as you know what they're watching and it's not used as a 10 hour substitute for other activities.

In my experience kids who don't watch/are not allowed TV get completely obsessed with it. I used to look after 2 little boys who were not allowed, one day we were in Asda and I couldn't get them past the bit with the TV's as some of them were on. Massive tantrums from both of them, one hung on to a display and wouldn't let me pull him off... all because they wanted to see a tiny bit of TV!

Same children weren't allowed any sweets. Took them to a party and one of them wouldn't join in, play with anyone becuase he wanted to stand by a bowl of haribo. Not having any, just looking :-(

My children have always been allowed telly, not constantly but it is there for and can be very entertaining.

I hated Thomas the Tank engine. What a bully!!!

Going off topic slightly, what's wrong with Pingu?
Admittedly I'm a good few years off the target demographic, but I think he's quite cute.

I find Pingu funny! Maybe come parents think he is quite naughty and don't wnat their children getting ideas. He makes me laugh though!

Whe I was young my Mum didn't want me to watch Grange Hill. Not quite sure what she though it was going to do to me!!

  • And Pingu's sister's name (Pinga) is the very rudest word in Cuban Spanish slang :D
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

I liked Pingu and so did the kids. We had quite a few of the videos (showing my vintage here!) and I've still got a row of plastic Pingu family members sitting in the potting shed window.

Kids, are you sitting comfortably on your botty?, now beware of the Troll!

What are you on, can I have some.

The OP has started numerous threads and never replied in any of them, dont you find that a little strange, especially as they have asked questions in their opening posts.

How does that make me a troll
