Choice have compatables for £2.49 each HERE

Had brother all in ones for a couple of years-superb! Never let me down and the ink is so much cheaper than HP.

They are the correct cartridges (LC900) but are £12.99 for one set of 4 cartridges (3 x colour + 1 black). Even with a free set I make that £39 quid for 4 sets.

The site I posted sells one set for £8.50 going down to £6.74 each set if you order 3 or more.

Ah sorry, didn't spot the Set at the top of the page, with it not having the LC900 code immediately visible.

I'd be interested to know why the Set is SO cheap compared to the seperate cartidges listed below them though - seems a little Too much of a difference to me.

Is the tonergiant site screamingly slow (sometimes just not working at all...) for everyone, or just me...?

EDIT: Well, seeing my trouble with the Tonergiant site continues, I'll never be shopping there! Which is a shame, as its one of the more professional looking ink-seller sites. Looks like these compatible inks are only going to be £2-3 each regardless, so I think we've probably established then that this printer is a bargain?

Didn't have any problems with the tonergiant site - I did a 'trial' order last night.

Got one of the printers on collect at store for pickup later today. Will be ordering some cartridges once I have physical possession of the printer. I've been stung before by PCW being unable to find something I've "reserved".

A little concerned by the solitary review at Amazon:
    Customer Reviews
    Average Customer Review:
Write an online review and share your thoughts with other customers.

9 of 10 people found the following review helpful:

Woe is me., 15 Nov 2006
Reviewer: T. S. Ward "Large" (London) - See all my reviews

The build quality is poor: especially the paper tray and the prop which holds up the hood of the machine when one needs to replace ink cartridges. Ink cartridge slots are colour marked and coordinate with the colour of the cartridges. Installation of the machine was far less than intuitive: I had lots of problems with the wireless aspect of the installation even though my access point is but inches away. Updating the software from the Brother web site was also problematic: Pity those with little experience of doing such things as updating software. Trust the professional reviewers who say that the performance of the machine is slow. If you want even slower printing: use the wireless connection! I am not surprised now that one professional reviewer intimated that Brother's response to questions on the wireless connection indicated that such questions should not be asked. The price I paid should have given me a clue as to the expected 'performance' of the machine (£154 including VAT and next day delivery). Colour reproduction is reasonable; as is the look of text.
Can anyone shed any light on these negative comments? I'm concerned at all the heavy discounting that's gone on.

I reserved one to collect at my local PCWorld in Farnborough. For the second time they failed me and had sold the last one to someone else (previously it was a USB hard disk). I complained to the manager and he let me have a Lexmark x9350 for £80 – much higher spec (normal price is £250 however its currently selling for £150).

The printer spec is similar to the brother but is faster and has duplex printing. But on the other hand it’s a lot bigger and I think INK will cost me a fortune.

Can Lexmark printer ink cartridges be refilled?

Should I keep the printer or return it and get the store to get me the Brother as I originally reserved.

    Any comments gratefully appreciated.
