Am I on BT Infinity?

Ok, so I know this sounds stupid.
I was informed by my service provider that my line will be upgraded on to the new BT Infinity service on the 25th January. I was sent long in details for my router to connect to the new service.
I've not been advised to unplug filters, and I'm using my existing wireless TP Link router. The line is BT, but through a company called Onebill.
My question arises from a friend in the next village to me, who explained he needed an engineer's visit, a BT Hub 3, with separate modem and the previous adsl filters weren't needed anymore.
I'm confused, could someone please enlighten me :-)
Thank you

If you have not had a visit from BTOR, with your vsdl modem you are not on infinity.
BT also fit a VDSL I plate to your master socket which replaces your existing filtersThat gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Sounds more like an upgrade to ADSL2+ from ADSL Max. Has your connection speed increased??0

I feel a little cheated.
I was told that i would be on Infinity from last September.
Got the upgrade information in December and January, and looking back on it, carefully worded.
I spoke to the provider and 3 occasions asking about the upgrade to Infinity, and not once did they mention that it wasn't that I was being upgraded to.
My speed has increased, from a download speed of 0.5 mbps to 3 mbps. An improvement, but not enough to watch youtube clips.
