    Since the 80's a lot of screens are bonded in, So not really a diy job to refit.

    Sometimes they break taking them out also. That glue they use is good stuff.

    Its strong enough to add structoral integrity to a car. Makes it stronger in a crash and less rattles over potholes.

    Well now, just had my insurance file from CUE and no mention of any windscreen claims on my insurance history, I have made around 3 in the last 5 years from memory.

    I guess you would still need to declare them if asked but very much doubt they make any difference to your premiums.
