Bank loan - refused and now cleared default.

They were to his old address, as far as he knew the contract had been ended and settled, that is until today when he got a credit report copy.
Well I only assume they were to his old address as none came here ( I open his mail - with permission) and he would definately not have let this lie, especially such a small amount.
I agree its only a small amount especially if a default has been issued as he will become a very high risk to lenders as other posters have pointed out and finding low interest loans and 0% credit cards won't happen for a few years.
Good luck getting it removed but can't see it myself.0 -

No me neither, these things never seem to go in the lenders favour.0 -

You need to include this in your email or letter to them, stating you believed that the bill was paid and upto date and you paid the bill in the first instance as soon as you was made aware of the debt.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
You need to argue your points with Vodafone....the fact about change of address, thought the account was fully settled, that you would never dream of risking a default for the sake of £27.....etc. See what they say, if not willing to remove it then make a formal complaint and if that does not work then take your case to the final Ombnusman....but be prepare for a long battle, they won't give up that easily....0

Thanks, I did mention to my mate that the only pheasable ( or however you spell that) explanation is that the letters were sent to an old or wrong address.0

That will all depend on how flexible the finance company is willing to be....you can always apply & worse case scenario appeal their decision.0
