First time selling on Ebay,Unconfirmed address

I just sold an item on Ebay for the first time. Had a buy it now of 90.00 and £10.00 postage. The buyer paid immediately through paypal, But his address was unconfirmed.

I contacted the buyer to ask if he could confirm his address to which he replied that he could not as it was his work address.

I said i could not send the item as his address was not confirmed and he could pay by direct bank transfer or postal order if he wanted the item.

He replied back saying that he doesnt trust postal orders or bank transfers (In other words he was happy for me to take a chance of a chargeback with an unconfirmed address, but not for him to take a chance on PO or bank transfer)

Anyway he would like a refund now as he has "overspent and should not have bought the item as money is a bit tight".
I have refunded him the payment but my ebay account now says: "You have marked this item as "Payment Not Received". However, this item has been paid for through PayPal. Payment was sent to: ME on 01-May-07."

Will this change to buyer refunded or somthing like that?

How do i go about getting my fees back and the best way to do it?

Thanks in advance.

:rolleyes2 :naughty:

The only way to get your fees refunded is to open an unpaid item dispute.

The fact that he started whining about having overspent would leave me with no hesitation in giving him a NPS strike.

I would agree, start a non paying bidder dispute to get your fees back. He can still get an address confirmed if it is a work address or not,as he can get paypal to write to the address and he can then enter the code on the letter.

The item that i refunded on says "This item has been purchased with an immediate payment"
Can i still enter a non paying bidder dispute while thats there?
And whats the best thing to Do, Do i say about refunding the buyer and what reasons do i give for that?

The buyer has sent me this after refunding them "Thank you for your co-operation, I will definatly leave you positive feedback.

Hope to do buisness with you in the future."

They have not left fedback yet, I'd feel pretty bad for doing a npb on them, But then again they dont about me having to relist the item again and pay fees again.

    What to do?

    Thanks again

Has he offered to pay your fees? No? Then you're out of pocket.

    Your call.

I think you're being way too harsh on the buyer here. He paid straight away in a way you specified. Did you state do not bid if you have an unconfirmed address?

    Not ebay fees, only paypal.

I refunded an a while back and got ebay fees refunded. Filed an unpaid item dipute selectin item returned & refunded. The buyer has to confirm this and fees are refunded. It is stated in the help pages.Credit Type

    Reason for Credit

    Full Credit
High bidder/buyer did not respond after you attempted to contact them (please allow at least seven days for them to respond).
High bidder/buyer "backed out" and didn't buy the item.
High bidder/buyer's cheque bounced or they placed a stop payment on it.
High bidder/buyer returned the item and you issued a refund.
High bidder/buyer could not buy the item due to family or financial emergency.
High bidder/buyer claimed the terms were unacceptable.

if you refund a paypal payment you get the paypal fees back

to get ebay final value fees back you have to do an unpaid item dispute

to get a relist fee credit you need to relist item after unpaid item dispute is closed, you get a relist fee credit if it sells the second time
