Two people can't have the same email, right?

It could also be that they used to own the email address you have but stopped using it and so it lapsed and you then registered it. Given the email appear to be about current enquiries this seems less likely unless you only just registered the address.
I've had the same email for many years. Used to be .com until Hotmail offered .co.uk, whenever that was.Herman - MP for all!0 -
As an aside, if anyone does actually need a fake email to sign up for spam. Don't just pluck one out of the air that may actually belong to some poor sod. Got to 10minutemail.com or get the Bloody Vikings! extension for Firefox and use one of theirs.
These are also useful when you need to provide an email to get a registration password, but you just know they will spam it afterwards. The email address remains live and readable for 10 minutes so you can get the useful stuff and then never see the spam.0 -
Eh? It's possible but complicated for two people to have the same email address? No, it's not. It's impossible.
1) family email addresses like 'thexyzfamily@example.com' may be shared (but by people who are in the same family/whatever)
2) group aliases 'team@example.com' which resolves to several email accounts
Or, the one that drives me nuts...
3) secondhand domains - one of my domains was pre-loved by someone else who surrendered it. Every few days I get an automated email from some system or other they signed upto with the address but which won't let me unsubscribe as I don't know their passwords they signed up with.0 -
Google are bad for this.
I have the email address reggie.rebel@gmail.com and often get emails for reggierebel@googlemail.com.
Google are aware of it but can't/won't do anything about itIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -

Well if you've got the phone number on his booking, phone him up. And say I've been receiving half your email! Do you want them? It's the same as people getting letters addressed to your home address, if you have contact details for them you can contact them and say 'here's your mail'
Then you point out the mistake and he might be more careful in the future0 -

Actually did try that. Number dialled ok but then silence, so who knows.Herman - MP for all!0 -
As several people have pointed out it is certainly possible with gmail, I don't use hotmail but wouldn't be surprised if something similar could happen there. I've also come across the .com and .co.uk issue with yahoo mail in the past.0

In Google's email system those adresses are identical.0
