Well, just got off the phone to head office, and there useless, accordding to there system, we where spose to top up the desposit? yet the deposit was £25 on booking and we paid £32 so we had a round number left to pay.
Becasue of this they canceled the booking, they said a letter was sent, but we got nothing or we would of paid it.
Now they say they cant do anything at the park we booked at as there fully booked, they can get us onto the IOW, but have to pay and extra £120 on top of what we owe, plus £39 per car ferry cost we have 2 cars as theres 6 of us going. And theres nothing they can do. There are now going to speak to someone else to see if they can try and sort something out.

http://www.park-resorts.com/faqs/faqs-booking-your-holiday/ states the absolute minimum deposit as £60 so how did you only manage to pay £32 (or £25), what were the T&Cs re deposits at the time of booking ?twinkle_2k86 wrote: »................... accordding to there system, we where spose to top up the desposit? yet the deposit was £25 on booking and we paid £32 so we had a round number left to pay. ................
andWhen you have booked your holiday with Park Resorts, we will endeavour to send your holiday confirmation by post within approximately 7 days. As part of our commitment to the environment please note that should you not provide us with an email address for your confirmation we charge £2 for all postal confirmations.0 -
At the time of booking (last year) there was an offer of £25 deposit to secure the booking, then the remainder 8 weeks before arrival date.
Bit like travel agents do in jan, they offer cheap deposits, but dont turn round and ask for a top up do they?0 -
Thanks for clarifying that as their T&C's state £50 and did in Sep last year as well (isn't Wayback Machine wonderful). I still do not understand why you have not got any confirmation of booking though, do they have the correct e-mail or address for you ?
You need to clarify the situation with them and ask why they wanted extra money and where that is covered in their T&C's (I can't find it) then seek advice from CAB or TS. http://www.park-resorts.com/terms-and-conditions/

Yer i read through there terms last night to see if something had changed, and maybe the had changed the 8 weeks part.
End of the day, the booking must of been secured or it wouldnt of been on the system? and when you pay for it they take the min deposit. but as said we paid a bit more.
I did find it strange we got nothing through post to confirm booking, but thought it was all done online, as you use your ref number to log into your booking on there website. And when i logged on in Jan to check what i needed to pay was still correct, it was still all live, and had all the details there.
If we had got a letter to say you need to pay a bit extra, then fair enough we would of paid it, but as we got nothing via, post, email or a phone call, which all the details was on our booking, this is whats makig me mad, and now there just trying to fob me off, or make me pay all this extra.
thank you for having a look as well for me0 -
Little update, The park we are spose to be staying at, are trying everything to help us out, they have got us top of the list if any private letter come in to let in the holidays, cant fault the park, they have phoned me back when they said they would, and been very helpfull.
Head office on the other hand said they would call back before 2pm, yet not a dicky bird from them.:mad:0 -
Did you get sorted Twinkle?0
-
Hi,
yes, Head office finally phoned back yesterday afternoon. I didnt have to say anything, they said they have got us the same holiday in the next caravan up, for the same price we booked for.
All paid for there and then, and got our email with booking confirmation just before lunch today.
Glad its all sorted out, but just a shame you have to kick up such a stink to get it sorted. The park have been fantasic though the whole thing, always helpfull and also ringing back. They even rang this morning to make sure i was all happy and they said sorry. I said it wasnt there fault but Head office.
Just have a feeling that someone somewhere has now had there holiday canceled
as they never had any vans avalible on our date at all, but magic one up.
thanks all for your help. :T0 -
I love a happy ending
