    Xmas Saver!
so you claim lots of benefits then, don't know how you sleep at night . I hope your writing to the mr conman and thanking him for his generosity and just rememebrer, i contributed to your long term benefits over the years , but thats what we pay into the system for isn't it? so those less fortunate can be looked after.

What are you talking about ?

So now I am ' The less fortunate' ?
    What 'lots of benefits' ?
    Who is 'Mr Conman' ?

Beings as you seem to know so much.
Can you please tell me where I have been abusive to feelthelove. Where I have sworn, called her abusive names ? Put her down ? Tried to make out I am better than her ?

My problem with her, is her attitude to benefits not her claiming them. And her attitude to other people. (Who she has called bullies)

I think it has a wider impact on discouraging saving, discouraging self-suffficiency, it penalises those that do save and rewards those who do not etc etc. It encourages a spend rather than save culture. To set an arbitrary limit of £16k affects those with £16,0001 unfairly against those with £15,999.

In short I think it's simplistic and typical of a government who legislates without thinking it through.

But what I think is not the point of this thread so there's no need for us to debate it.

The point of the thread is that some will lose their entitlement to UC because of savings. I don't agree personally as I have savings and whilst don't currently claim, it prevents me ever doing so if I needed them.

But reality is that Tax Credits are means tested benefits - Nearly every other benefit has the 16K savings cap so you see why this is now being introduced. It's always been an anomoly that HB etc wasn't paid and TC were.

It's like all things in the benefit world, some lose out and others gain. Take Pension Credit. My Grandma is pennies over the amount due to a small private pension, the net result of those pennies is thousands of pounds less benefits and puts her considerably less well off than those who never had a private pension as she needs to pay rent, CTB and full care costs.

So whilst I share your agreement that it penalises savers, you also need to look at if they removed the 16K for CTC then in reality other benefits like IS, JSA etc currently affected by the cap should have it removed for fairness.

Then you have an unsustainable system.

how about the post about violins and calling him/her for wanting to claim tax credits , it is really people's right to claim so that in itself was vindictive , also how about when you said sympathy and correcting spelling mistakes .

The violin was in response to a sarcastic comment she had previously made.

And it would appear from the above comment I have made bold that I called her nothing.

So saying 'sympathy' is nasty and vindictive.

I think it is quite clear from her responses to not just mine but other users posts that feelthelove has issues.

I'm not that bothered really to be honest i have other things to worry about at the moment but just pointing out that if you say things to someone obviously of the same nature you will clash with them .
