Its a bit like pensioners of today. if you have a private pension you get nothing and pay for everything..if you only have a basic old age pension you get pension credits,housing benefit,CTB,free dentist etc,etc.And if you go in a home the tab is picked up by the taxpayer.Then you end up worse off for struggling all your life to try and better yourself in old age...

The only problem I have had, is that I have a disabled adult in the home that is not my partner but my son. There is nowhere to add him. So although the actual credit is ok the housing costs are incorrect.

I have referred to the site owner as well but there's no harm in hoping someone on this board might be able to help me.
There's also no hram in me pointing out that the calculator isn't really accurate enough for my circumstances at the moment.

Singularly inappropriate username wouldn't you say? We all "pay into the system" for all sorts of things. Tax isn't just used for the benefit system, it's also used to pay for the NHS, the Armed Forces, the Police, Fire Service, education, etc we all pay in and we all benefit to some extent. There can't be very many people who do not depend on the State for something in their lives.
I can only feel pity for whatever it is that has happened in your life to make you so angry and bitter.

so if you have savings over 16k you get nothing?

so what will happen with savings under 16k? will your benefits be based on how much savings you have like a tiered system. or will everyone entitled to benefits with savings under 16k be entitled to the same amount regardless of how much savings they have?

I dont know what happened with you two and why your both at each others throats , but at the end of the day we all need to survive and claim what we can to make life easier , i have no problem people claiming what they can and just hope they can live better lives doing so .
