The Council Tax Band has nothing to do with unmetered charges. Charges are based on the Rateable Value(RV) which was the system for raising 'local taxes' that finished in 1990.
Also for Severn Trent there are 8 charging zones(areas) with different charges for each zone.0 -

The majority of the cost in peoples bills comes from how much it costs to collect rain water, clean it, deliver it, take away your !!!!, clean it and put it back in to the enviroment.
The day that people can shop around you will still be paying for where your water is processed so if you lived in the south west you would still pay south west prices.
Only the 10% ish of the costs/profits come from the customer service part and so there will be very little changes to peoples bills.0 -
We're with Anglian water, unmetered, and we already pay £449.53 a year, so look's like a steep one for us this year.
There are 4 adults here, so I thought going on a meter would cost even more, especially as we get our hot water from a tank, and we have to run it quite a while before any hot water comes through.
Edit: Oh, and that's with discount as our surface water goes into a soakaway.
