Hi, just curious to know if I'm entitled to money back or having my tariff reduced, I'm currently on £46 a month with ee on the iphone 5 but don't have 4g yet and looks like it be a year before I do. Any advise will be great.
Many thanks

Didnt you check coverage before taking out the contract?
I've never seen an EE 4G contract, but I would be amazed if there wasn't a clause that said that they cannot guarantee to provide 4G service all the time, having said that..if you've never had any, that might be different...but essentially we've come full circle back to my first point.0 -
I'm pretty sure it was openly advertised that 4G would only be avaliable in 5 (?) cities in the UK, until next year at the earliest?0

It's in nearly 30-odd cities now. If you have a 3G handset and only have 2G signal, is it any different? No. You still have access to 3G and 2G services and you're 4G-ready.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

It really depends on what was stated to you at the time you agreed to this. Was 4G discussed? Were you promised 4G would work etc?
According to the Orange and EE website 46 per month plans are identical for the iPhone 5 (unl calls/sms with 3GB data) and this is also the cost on Orange (direct with them) to get the phone free. On that basis you aren't really losing out on your plan unless you paid upfront for your handset.0 -

No 4G?
Pah, we have a job to get 3G here!0 -
Looking back to the mists of time, I was sold a 3G service, that would use 3G where available, and 2G when it wasn't. (As they did not guarantee coverage, it was my decision).
I could not vacate the contact based on there being no 3G service available - so I believe history will repeat itself - if there is 4G you will connect to it, if not you'll get connectivity through 3G.0 -
We were in our EE store and advised it would be April before 4G was available but the contracts are being sold now. Hopefully your sales people can advise you when you'll get the benefit. No 4G?

We are the same at our house, although newer model phones do seem to get a smidge of signal. When 4G is available in the city, it'll not reach the sticks lolRoll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017 :beer:0
