Help - just had bag stolen with mobile how do I block it please?
Can anyone let me know how I can block my Nokia 6111 from working, as I have just had my bag stolen an hour ago with mobile inside. If they have got it I don't want them to be able to use it if possible - or is this pointless as they could just get it unblock? Ive got the IMEI number thought it be worth an ask.
Thanks for reading.

If your sim is registered with the network you can phone them and block the sim from use. I did that with Virgin and it was blocked within the hour.0

Also give them the phone IMEI number as this will bar the handset from being able to be used inside0 -
looks like they have taken sim out the phone, its a pay as you go one, everytime I ring it it keeps saying, not possible to connect you. Im soo annoyed coz i found exactly same phone as mine at Chester Zoo on Sunday and i spent most of the afternoon tracking the owner down to give it to them.0

If your phone is stolen, report your number to your network operator and the police as quickly as you can - the handset can then be barred on all networks and will be useless to criminals. Even if the SIM card is changed, the phone will no longer work on any UK network.
Mobile phone operators have created a single number for victims of mobile phone theft or robbery to call when they want to block stolen phones. The number, 08701 123123, is for all networks and has a recorded message which will let callers know which number they need to phone for their particular network. When you report the crime you will be asked to call your service provider to block the phone, if you have not already done so.0 -
it may be a long shot, but if you give the IMEI the phone network the IMEI number then the phone will be barred, this means the phone will not be able to make or recieve calls, I ahve had this happen a few times and I will keep an eye on ebay for it, this is the place they will usually try and sell it on, they will describe the phone as faulty (will not make or recieve calls) if any go on in the next few days I will give you a shout, if a phone wont make or recieve calls then 99 times out of 100 the phone is barred so it is illegal to sell. Feel so sorry for you and altrhough its a long shot I will keep my eyes open and just maybe we will catch them0

Thanks sooo much - just been on to O2 and they've blocked phone and sim. My phone was frosted pink - just really annoyed coz got my baby's photos on it. thanks again for all your help.0

Will keep my eyes open for you then, if one comes up that is frosted pink and faulty (not making or recieving calls) I will make sure I bid and win on the auction, then I can check the IMEI number with you and get it back to you with photos intact. Then we can report them to the police and catch them.
What location are you in by the way just in case it does go on ebay and it shows there location ?0 -
***Board Guide note, location removed for your safety as your handbag has been stolen***0
