Unfortunately we cannot renew your motor insurance for the coming year.

just had email from Swift cover car insurance saying Unfortunately we cannot renew your motor insurance for the coming year. Nothing changed job roles Nurse and sales (with company car). Wont give us reason why they came to this decision but told we need to declare this as being refused insurance !!!!!!!!!!
We are young full time employed professionals with 2 kids and never had an accident as low risk as you can get .....

advise please :mad::mad::mad:

You say you are young which is high risk. Have either of you received any points this year? Have either of you failed to declare anything such as previous accidents which the insurers may have found out about? Also what area do you live as some insurers are very reluctant to insure in certain areas.

Contact Swift as something has been wrongly recorded. If it is something that needs to be declared to other companies, this suggests attempted fraud, deliberate non disclosure, i.e issues of bad faith.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

A formal complaint in writing sent recorded delivery, Not an email that might not arrive.

Asking them why you have to declare having insurance refused.

Must be something somewhere. Forgot to disclose something? Claim for windscreen or points, Named driver ??

It may be that they have had a lot of claims in your area and are just not renewing policies on that basis.

However if that is the case then they wouldn't be telling you that you had to declare that you had been refused insurance - you would have to advise future insurers that they were not renewing policies for your area.

Agree with the others that you need to progress this urgently.

    well I consider us young 33 and 37 :)
no points ever and no accidents ever
area is not what you would class as a dodgy area
  • we asked and could get any where with them, were told it wasn't us as I have been thinking the worse of someone pretending to be us. as I said above I am a nurse so try to apply for all things in good faith as can can get deep trouble with nursing council otherwise.
I did get chip on windscreen repaired but that was 2 years ago

  • Have you tried doing a quote online with them with same details just diff name? That would tell you if it is you or if it is that they have changed who they offer cover to?
I had a renewal refused a few years ago because they no longer offered business mileage cover but was never told had to declare it/.

Try the reg of a car on ebay or similar also, Dont use your name, address or reg number.

You got a chip repaired. Have you been declaring this? Petty but it counts these days.
