  • Been away for a few days on a course for work and visiting the inlaws so just catching up now.

CONGRATS Samtoby and yay for the test pron!

    Also congrats Picklekin :)

Seems a very quiet month so far, where are all the BFPs?

I am probably 6 DPO, stopped temping after FF gave me crosshairs as I kind of don't see the point now. As I ov'd on CD23 the egg was probably rubbish, and even if it wasn't, DH's little soldiers don't work so well so given that we're probably not going to make this baby without help, I'm putting a lot less effort into trying these days (not sure how long that'll last though as I have no willpower).

Off on holiday on Monday to Italy, I can't wait, we so need this holiday!

part mouse - what dose are you on now?
  • Tea 112.5 looks like I will be going up half a week and if I ov but don't get pg then start again from the beginning dose on the next cycle and work all the way up again.
  • Good new on the blood Tink, those decorations looks lovely, I wish I was so talented!

I'm glad someone else goes through the same thought process as me! We are going to my in laws for xmas dinner & I would love to be 12 weeks (or close to it) by then.

If I dont have a BFP by xmas then I will have a lovely hen weekend to look forward to in April to Portugal!

credit_crunch and becsxxx - glad to see I'm not the only one then!
I would love to be able to announce a BFP to the family for Christmas.
Thank you ladies for letting me know I'm not alone in torturing myself :rotfl:

I've just totally depressed myself, worked out this cycle has another 7 weeks to get to the max dose :( and then having to start again from the bottom if I'm not pg:(
Is it normal to have to start again at the starting dose? I've got this horrid feeling I'm not going to respond for a long time as nothing makes my follies grow:(:(

I've got no experience of menopur as a stand-alone drug (only as part of IVF) so it could be they do things differently this way. Which kind of makes sense - in IVF you use menopur, and then the trigger shot, to get a LOT of eggs ready for collection. I guess if you're not collecting the eggs you want to avoid maturing a high number at once, so would probably need lower doses of menopur to start with. Much as you'd love a baby, I presume you don't fancy 8 or so at once!

Could also be that they're being cautious re. OHSS. Believe me, you don't want to mess with that.

When I've been on clomid and similar we've generally upped the dose as it's become clear what I respond to, rather than starting again. But (as I say often on here lol) I'm no medical expert. Has s/he explained their reasoning? I find it a lot easier to be patient with slow treatments if I really understand why we're doing things that way.
