    Eighth Anniversary Combo Breaker
    Hi all,

    Congratulations ttc.

Can I ask some advice? My cycle is generally 28days. However, two days before I get AF I have spotting - only very light though. The next day nothing, then 1 day of heavy bleeding, 1 day of light bleeding then I might very lightly spot for a couple days after. This month I had nothing between second day and forth but then spotted on 4th day.

My question is really about how to work out ov - is it from the first day of spotting or from the day of the heavy bleeding. Only because it is only light spotting on initial day, then it is at least one or two days before anything else happens.

I am not taking my temperatures yet so trying to figure out when ov.

    Thanks all.

Hi Carrot, welcome to the thread.

Ov. is usually somewhere around 10-14 days before AF arrives (CD1 counted as red bleeding). With a regular 28 day cycle you're probably looking at ov. happening around CD14 (+/- a few days either side, depending on the length of your luteal phase).

Cervical mucus (CM) can be a good way of seeing what's happening. Just before ov, you'll get fertile mucus, which is stretchy and clear (egg-white). This will clear up after ov.

It might be worthwhile keeping an eye out for what's going on with CM before starting temping, as it's an easy to do and you don't have to remember to wake up at the same time each day :)

Congratulations to everyone on their BFPs.

My period seems to be lasting an age, thats a week solid now. Being on the pill for nearly 10 years defo messes up your body even when this is the third cycle since being off the pill.

Hope everyone is having a lovely monday.

not to be b1tchy or anything, but do you sometimes feel like looking around you, its the morons who are getting pregnant easily and maybe humanity is doomed because it's only the stupid people breeding?

no offence to the graduates of this thread - I don't mean you.

Recently found through the Facebook stalker bar (that bit that shows you when friends of friends comment) that someone I used to be at school with is pregnant again by someone she's had an on- off relationship with for a few months. Her other kids are in voluntary care at their own request (in other words, living with her was clearly so bad her kids would rather be in care) but she gets to have another one, when a friend who has worked to make a lovely life and would be a brilliant mum and give her baby everything has just miscarried after her 3rd round of IVF and I can't get pregnant either. Just seems so unfair.

I completely agree with you code.

I'm getting all emotional and weepy and having weird cramps today. Probably having a shorter than usual lp again this cycle. :(
