Hi everyone.
Becca - love your puppy. I'm trying to convince oh we should get a kitten to keep our 3 yr old cat company but he is having none of it
Cd32 for me & 13dpo
Did 3 tests yesterday & all neg. so must just be a long cycle for me. No symptoms of AF either so it's got me in a muddle.
Hugs to anyone who needs them.
I have had a few emotional days - lots of ppl on fb announcing pregnancies or else ppl moaning about their kids. Hope they realise how lucky they are to have them! :cool:0 -

As one of the same old faces, I'm really not sure how to take this. Shoud I apologise for making you feel sad with my non-functioning uterus? Should I be offended? I'm assuming it was meant kindly, but it stings a little bit.
Becca - your puppy is the cutest thing. My dog seems to have become very protective of my feet. DH was rubbing them earlier and he kept lunging at him.
Claire - I see what you mean about those reviews. I always hope I'm one of those success stories when I try something new, but knowing its cause people don't realise ov is not always on CD14, I don't think I'll ever be one of these - "we tried for 10 years and then I took this magic supplement and peed on this particular stick and boom! I'm now pregnant with octuplets".
Part Mouse - that sounds very scary. Fingers crossed it works and you ovulate.
Today has been a bit emotional. All the fathers day crap, and outpourings of messages for all the dads on facebook and when I was writing my dad's card, I almost wrote DH's name on the envelope.
Good luck all those going to the doctors tomorrow and hugs for anyone feeling down.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
See I really have no reason to be peed off!! I had my trigger, bd for 4 nights, we've done EVERYTHING we could this cycle! But it just grates me that we started trying before they did. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, I just find it so hard.
Is it wrong that there are people I definitely wish this on? Scummy mummy next door for one.... I have high hopes for you this cycle with your trigger. BTW: your puppy is absolutely gorgeous! I'm stuck with an obese, angry ginger cat forever more.... Desperately want a dog though.
Thanks for the kind words Claire & Becca. I personally feel there's no hope but it's nice to hear some positivity even if it's not mine!I've decided to do the 5:2 diet again but ramp it up the first month with a 4:3 ratio instead. I have to lose 6lbs to get my BMI below 30. Ideally I would like to be back at my wedding weight which is 18lbs away now.... pesky comfort eating...
Code. I really hope everything goes well with you and your OH. I've got everything crossed.
Fannyanna. Here's my HSG answers:
how long are you there for? I was there for 90 minutes but my HSG was awful... (It revealed I have a unicornuate uterus and a cervix that no word of a lie they had to joust to get the dye cannula in. Apparently my cervix is 'hyper mobile'- can just imagine it actively avoiding sperm...)
how long does the actual procedure take? Once the dye cannula was in it took literally 10 minutes.
who does it? Is it a doctor or just the radiologist? Was it a man or a woman? I had three radiographers- one of them was being trained so I assume it would usually just be two. There were no doctors present- in my trust they get sent the scan and a report written by the radiographer. They were all women.
how many people are there? Is there also a nurse there? Like I said, there were three radiographers- no nurses. If you're worried about a male doing the procedure you can request a female but you might have to wait longer for an appointment. A male will always have a female chaperone though.
did you take pain medication?I took a couple of paracetamol about an hour before my appointment. In my experience it wasn't pleasant but I wouldn't describe the procedure as painful (other than the jousted cervix...). It was a cross between having a smear test and having the coil fitted. I found having the coil fitted more painful as the cramping was intense as my womb got used to the coil- once the HSG cannula was removed it didn't hurt. I'd say I just felt a bit 'pre-AF'. Sort of a bit bloated and a little tender.
If you don't have a high pain threshold definitely take your painkillers, perhaps consider having someone drive you there and back and consider taking the day off work. Had mine not been so traumatic mentally I'd have been fine going back to work but I ended up taking the day off. You'll be fine- we're built for more painful stuff.
I can't remember who asked about BD while TTC- We've been trying for over 2 years now for #1 and BD much less now than before. We've both got the TTC malaise. Used to BD about 3-5 times a week. Now we're lucky if it's once! OH feels that his SA results have stolen enjoyment from him...0 -
Morning all. It's grey and rainy and horrible here.
Sending hugs to Purcy and Lilmissmup xxx
Becca - that is one hugely cute puppy. The photo actually made me a little teary - our fluffy monster flies back to the Uk next week so the time to say goodbye is drawing near.
So apparently the combination of long haul flights, man-flu and some killer stress have resulted in a screwed up AF for me this month - only had about 36 hours of light flow then just some (TMI) old brown stuff. It is only the second month after my coil was removed and I've had masses on (illness, uni work, flying back and forth to UK, dog stuff etc) so not really surprised my body has been crap this month.

Without being rude, I also thought this was a strange thing to post when you are fairly new to the thread. One of the main facts of ttc is that the average time spent trying is 12 months. Therefore it is very likely that 'the same old faces' will be around for a while. And that's not even considering any problems. I know you meant well but it's very hard to take things the way they are meant when a comment about something you have zero control over is made. Especially if you are having a particularly down day which can be often.
Code I hope you are feeling much better todaythings seem a bit hard on here ATM for a lot of people
Huge hugs ladies xFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
Claire16c - I too am amazed that anyone ttc for more than 6/8 cycles hasn't at least started to read up on the subject and learnt methods of tracking their actual ovulation date. However how many GPs and nurses have people on this thread encountered that seem to know less than us, so should we be surprised? Also my GP told me to stop temping, so imagine if I'd told her I had a CBFM?
Teaandcakeordeath - good luck with the weight loss. My trip to the Isle of Wight has badly affected my diet plans. I'm just so fed up of being useless at this.My brother and his fianc! did the one week egg diet. It looked very tough and you aren't allowed to do it for more than a week. However he lost 6lb, although she only lost 4 which I don't think was enough for the suffering involved but is good if you're in a hurry.
AFM - I'm having a shorter cycle but have done the best of any so far. Managed to BD 4 times within O-3 and O+1, which gives me my first high on FF!!! CD17 and 3DPO please. It's a good job we started BD at CD9 even though my average ov date is CD17 as every now and then I get a surprise peak reading on CD13/14.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -

Yes Im sure all of us would rather not be on here!
And that's a good point actually, 12 months is normal with no issues, so there's also a high chance people will be on here for longer than that, problems or not.
Plus if the people on here kept changing every five minutes we wouldn't build up much of a rapport on here with other people, or understand their story.
When someone comes on, gets pregnant within a few weeks to be honest I doubt many people remember them. The thread is kept going by peoples stories.0 -

Id be really annoyed if my dr told me to stop doing anything like that, I feel so much better the more I know. Id just carry on anyway.
Yeah it amazes me too. I think I ttc for about 1 cycle and then looked up all the facts, I mean you only ovulate once a month so finding out when that would be is pretty basic information!
And yes although Drs are sometimes scarily misinformed, unless they've tried to ttc themselves you could see why they hadn't bothered to do anymore research (although its really no excuse and some of the stories I've seen on here are shocking) but if you've been trying for a while, how could you not find out yourself?0
