Yes that's the things the ladies were talking about! I've never seen them though so sounds scary to me! I'm way too squeamish/wimpy to do anything like that myself lol!

If I ever did develop diabetes and I had to test my blood sugar, I'd have to have someone else to do it. I absolutely cannot handle it! I couldn't watch my dad give himself allergy shots when I was little, nor could I watch my grandmother give my grandad insulin shots when I was a teen. Suppose that all I'd need to do is go work on the rosebush out front or the blackberry canes out back again though... I always get stuck multiple times whenever I deal with those stinking plants! Wonder if that would be a viable business? Selling rosebushes with thorns to people who think they're pregnant. 'Plant this and you can do a blood test at home! No needles!' :rotfl:

I'm still amazed that I haven't gotten any of the holes left from them infected yet. I'd hate to think of what might be on those thorns!

ETA: I was out for 3 hours this morning and my core body temperature dropped nearly 3 degrees Celsius... That's a lot for me, especially in that short amount of time. The scariest bit is that I couldn't tell that I was even cold, and now I'm shivering like there's no tomorrow and all wrapped up with the heat on and me beside of a radiator!

Sorry off topic but I was a total needle and blood phobic before dx with t1 diabetes. When it's a necessity you just get used to it and it becomes second nature!

Yeah, I don't like needles but had to inject myself after my op and will have to inject all through any pregnancy in future and it gets easier to do - if you have to do it, then you do!
