This 2ww is driving me bonkers.

I also need to be told off as I'm not helping myself with symptom spotting. Although Hubby keeps egging me on so I blame him. He wanted me to POAS when I was 2dpo :rotfl:

    Hi all

I've been a long time lurker on this board and would really like to join you guys please :) The last few weeks have been really hard, I'm constantly being asked when we are going to have a family (rudest question in the world IMO!!), my aunt in law informed me that it was selfish of me to be putting my career before a family (erm i'm not!!) and then a good friend announced that she was preggers after the first month of having her coil removed like it was no big deal!

So about me..... I'm 29 (shortly to hit the big 30!) and my hubby and I have been TTC #1 since Oct 2012. I stopped taking the pill around this time last year and my cycles have been pretty regular (25-28 days) ever since. My hubby and I spent most of last year on different continents (long work related story) so we thought that was a great opportunity for me to come off pill and get cycles back to 'normal' before TTC.

Since we started TTC we've been using OPKs and have been BD'ing strategically around these (as well as generally throughout the month) but so far no luck. Ive been taking pregnacare conception vitamins, vitamin B supplements and folic acid. Ive even made the hubby take the male preconception vitamins. This morning, I've also gone and bought some conceive plus to try for the first time.

Although my cycles seem ok. I am concerned about my tubes (severe appendicitis when I was 11 which resulted in peritonitis and several follow up operations to clear the mess made during the first op) and I'm not sure how long to wait before speaking to a doctor about this. Would be really grateful for any advice anyone may have :)

Anyway, I'm on 2dpo atm which was nicely timed for BH weekend but I'm not feeling optimistic this month.

Wishing you all well on your journeys to BFPs!!

    X CLB

welcome bex, you're in good company here with your cat loving :)

the tests to see if your tubes are ok are a HSG or a HyCoSy- basically they both put fluid into your uterus and see if it can travel out the ends of your tubes. HSG uses x ray (i think) where as a HyCoSy is done by ultrasound.

you could have a chat with your GP who can run through the probabilities etc of their being an issue and maybe refer you for a test if they're feeling kindly (maybe a white lie from you to say your mum was told you should have one when you're older by your consultant at the time) but we find a lot on these boards that GPs refuse to listen until you've been trying for two years :o

or you could look into the price of having a HyCoSy done privately and decide if the cost is worth the piece of mind.

    Brilliant :rotfl:

And thank you for my telling off. The latest ss is that I have tender nipples. But it's probably because I keep tweaking them to see if they are tender
