Hey - not sure if this is in the right section  but

Basically going to the states in a few months and wanted to know about these prepaid cards. What do people think?

Lot of people say to get the nationwide card but im a student and part time so they wont even offer me a debit card

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Post office do a card where you load it with cash before you go, then you can use it just like a debit card. You can't go overdrawn, only use the money you've credited to it. https://www.postoffice.co.uk
I may be shy, but that doesn't make me an angel ;)

I recommend American Express Travellers Cheque Card. Its' accepted everywhere in the states where you see the American Express Logo, you can check your balance online, top up online, and call customer care 24/7.

You can also use it for pretty much anything, hotel rooms, shops, etc.

    Hi
I used an American Express card in Florida a few months ago and it was great. Cost £20 to set up but it never expires. We loaded up the money here and were able to use it anywhere over there. It cost $2( I think ) to withdraw cash and nothing when we used it to purchase items. For the peace of mind it was well worth it, and if we needed it we could have topped it up over there, online or by phone. Hope this is helpful
