Cosmos and Tesco Clubcard vouchers

I just received my latest batch of Tesco Clubcard Vouchers and I am looking at booking a holiday abroad in July, so I looked at Cosmos as they accept the vouchers.

I used the special link for Cosmos site and got a price, then I looked at their normal website and the price for exact same package was £100 cheaper.

I take it that it's not worth using Clubcard vouchers with Cosmos, unless anyone knows any different?

Thanks

Edit: reply from Cosmos to my email stating vouchers can only be used against brochure prices, not online prices.

Wouldn't it be better to go out for pizza?

Depends how much the value of your vouchers is and how many people aged over 2 you're booking for.
eg If you have the maximum (£300 per passenger aged 2 and over = £100 Tesco clubcard vouchers) and are booking for 2 adults then you get £600 off the brochure price = £500 off the online price, for using £200 of Tesco vouchers (net gain £300)

    If you've got £100 in vouchers (=£300 reward) then you'd still save £100 (£300 - £100 vouchers - £100 difference between brochure vs online price = £100 gain)

If you've got £50in vouchers then you'll only break even (£50 vouchers = £150 rewards, - £100 loss of online discount = £50, same as value of vouchers)

Less than £50 of vouchers = would be cheaper to book online and save your vouchers for something else :)

we've had 2 holidays with tesco clubcard vouchers, over the years 1 to goa and 1 to benidorm. We did it in the days when you got 4 times the voucher, and i collected loads of points when there was 2x250 leaflets for a £5 spend on toiletries, those were the days.

And yes you do have to pay brochure price and there is no discount.

I just rang cosmos and asked for a price on a holiday using clubcard vouchers.
  • thanks folks, I have about £50 in vouchers, so I guess £200.

Yeah, so no benefit to you to use them for Cosmos
You're going to pay £100 more for the holiday (brochure price) and your vouchers could be spent in store for (a minimum of) £50
so I can't see how you'd gain anything by using them for this holiday
