Glad to hear that. BTW found the following post on landlord zone with some useful wording for a letter when someone has been in without permission, worth saving just in case:

"Please note that according to The Protection from Eviction Act 1977 it is an offence to do acts likely to interfere with the peace or comfort of a tenant.
Any further breaches of my rights by yourself or any of your representatives will result in my taking action for harassment, which is both a civil and criminal offence.
Should any such incidents arise during the period of my tenancy I will contact the police immediately to try and resolve this manner and will also consider any alternative legal remedy available."0 -

Grammar police (I hope I'm right)
ps.glad it went well. Good for you asserting your rights."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.

A novel way of handing in your 'notice to quit'.;)Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
This is exactly why tenants need more rights. There they are trying to assert their legal rights & as you (probably fairly) describe it, they are effectively handing in their notice to quit.
If this happened in my place of work - that is to say I tried to assert legal rights & was given my notice for it, I would (at least) be able to take the company to a tribunal."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.

A novel way of handing in your 'notice to quit'.;)
That would depend on the circumstances, not all landlords/agents would have the knee jerk reactions you do. Thankfully some of them know which side their bread is buttered and that's on the side of keeping good tenants!
As posted already my agent got a pretty strong email from me (although not quite as explicit as this letter) saying in no uncertain terms I'd take action if it happened again. I am still here and since then have in fact renewed with a rent decrease.
If the landlord continued entering without permission I would not want to stay anyway but even when the situation is damaged beyond repair the letter is still useful to get the tenant peace of mind during the notice period or compensation if that doesn't happen.0
