What do you buy a man for Valentines day?

My understanding of men is that home baked cheesecake served on wife is what makes it proper cheesecake.0

We don't go in for commercial gifts - hence last years gift being home made.
He's quite an old man in his hobbies really, just got a promotion at work so not really been pursuing any of them except our weekend walks (across the moors in a wheelchair is a huge laugh if nothing else). When he's not walking he keeps fish (several tropical marine fish tanks but I don't protest because it means I get a posh coffee when we go to Dobbies to get the water), he has his dog which takes up a lot of his time, goes out with the lads and things like that. He does enjoy fishing but I could write what I know about that on a postage stamp!
Like I said he does like cheese but he is cooking for me that night since I have the hospital earlier that day - and it's blood week so I'll no doubt have as much life in me as a ragdoll after. I might make him another cheese based treat or just take some over so that he can have some for pudding as he always gets a chocolately one for me even though he prefers savoury desserts.
I'm definitely not going down the tacky pink fishnet lingerie route.0

OH and I don't fall into this trap either. I know he loves me, he knows I love him. I don't need overpriced supermarket flowers and extortionate cards to tell him that.
I cook him his favourite dinner usually, but then thats not unusual anyway and he usually has that once a month.
I'm always amazed how the price of flowers and chocolates goes through the roof.0

My beloved hates Valentines day. (As do I!) But quality time and a favourite meal with wine followed by dessert* is always a winner.
Also, more men like being given flowers than you might think.
*you can read this with an overdramatic wink if you like. Although actual dessert is good too.0

We don't bother much at all to be honest. I think most years I have been working nights.
We do get each other a card, but, we have a competition to find the naffest, cheapest card we can and post pictures on Facebook to be judged (this has extended to Christmas cards as well now).0
