The iva company is RE10 and they have said contact hmrc directly, just don't know how to word a letter to them ?

Ok so a small update, we spoke to a manager at hmrc who has escalated our complaint and we should hear back in 2 weeks

That sounds a bit more reassuring.

I would advise badgering RE10 to get them to send your completion certificate (if they have not done so already of course). It's all well and good them advising you to take the matter up with HMRC, but sending a copy of your certificate of completion to HMRC might well help your cause. You can bet your bottom dollar that some jobsworth at HMRC will ask for it if you don't.

They haven't sent it yet and said it could take 3-4 months from completion, all they have sent so far is a letter saying all payments are now paid

Might be worth forwarding a copy of that letter to HMRC. You could also give them your IVA reference number, and contact details for RE10, so that HMRC can contact them directly in the event of any other queries.
