Cashback Sites for Sim Only Contract

Hi,

I'm planning on getting a Sim Only 12 month contract with 3 which gives me 200 mins, 5000 texts and 500MB mobile internet

It's £6.90/month

However with TopCashback you may get over £21 back

I've never used cashback sites before so don't know if they're reliable to cough up or not

Any advice from anyone who has done such a thing before

I went through TCB for my 3 contract and the cash back went through ok, can't comment on PAYG, but can't see why it should be any different?

They are not very reliable and you can never be 100% sure.

Thanks and I think it's pay monthly

I wanted to know what processess do you go through at TCB (i.e. do you have to give your bank details etc to them)

The cashback site is a referral agent, no more.
You register with them and log in, you follow their advice about tracking, clearing cookies etc, you then click through them to the retailers site and make your purchase directly with the retailer as normal.
All being well, the cashback site tracks your purchase, the retailer verifies it, and eventually you get your payment.
There can be problems and retailers do sometimes refuse to pay without giving a reason which can be frustrating when you think you've done everything right.
However I got my £60 cashback from vodafone with no problems at all.
I think the advice is to think of the cashback as an extra and not guaranteed so base your final decision on the deal not on the value of the cashback. Then it's a very nice bonus when you get it.
I have to say I've only ever had a couple of things declined and that was when I used an unauthorised voucher code in conjunction with the cashback site, so my own fault. Overall, I've found TCB and quidco to both be reliable.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Just a few left over questions:

If a Cashback site refuse to pay up, what options do you have then?

Also how is the cashback paid to you?

    Thanks,

It's not the cashback site who refuses to pay up, the problems are when for whatever reason either the purchase doesn't track so the retailer can't identify it, or they decline it for some other reason. (They then don't always tell you what the reason is.)
If there is a problem you submit a missing/underpaid cashback claim to the cashback site. You need all the details such as date of visit, order/reference number/amount spent etc.
The cashback site then resubmits it to the retailer who either accept it and pay up, or continue to decline it. In which case you've reached the end of the line and you don't get your cashback. Which is why everyone says not to rely on it. This process can take several months if you're unlucky.
TCB you can either choose to be paid by paypal, bank transfer, or they'll give a small bonus if you get paid in amazon vouchers.
Quidco pay is bank payment (I think) and you set the amount which triggers the payment. I've got mine on £10.
Check both cashback sites before buying as some retailers are on one but not the other, and they each sometimes have deals so cashback is higher than normal at times.
I tend to to use firefox as a browser just for cashback and nothing else to try to make sure thing track properly.
Biggest single payout so far - nearly £400 on a holiday I booked through a casback site.:D

My only concern is as I don't use paypal, if I were to use bank transfer - are there any issues that can or have arisen

Sorry for all the qs :o

    Cashback and Tracking/Claims Support
Merchant Payment Speed and Delays Support
Also how is the cashback paid to you?
Member Payment Support - BACS, PayPal, Love2shop or Amazon.co.uk Gift Certificates

It's about the same for quidco.
