We are getting married at Vale Royal Abbey near Northwich in May. They don't have accommodation but there are a few hotels etc within a 5 mile radius that we and our guests are staying at, what we like about it is the fact that yours is the only wedding on that day and for the price of the venue you also get a toast master and dj included. Some places you might like to look at are Manor House, Alsager, Wychwood park and Mottram Hall as they all offer late availability packages at a good price as well as fixed price deals.
    Next- £486.25 Barclaycard £600
    October make £10 a day - £183.90/155 :j

Thanks for these, will take a look.

We're also going to a wedding fair in a couple of weeks' time at Slater's Country Inn (near Newcastle under Lyme) so we'll see what that is like as a friend has been to a wedding there and said it was nice :)
  • Venues in Cheshire we've recently looked at:

Shrigley Hall (which we have chosen) nr Macclesfield
    Mottram Hall nr Macclesfield
    Heaton House Farm nr Congleton
    Sandhole Farm nr Congleton
    Chimney House, Sandbach
    Cranage Hall, Holmes Chapel
Hollin Hall, Bollington (curently 56% off on Groupon)!
  • We live on the Staffs/ Cheshire boarder (Betley) and we are getting married at Madeley Old Hall which is a beautiful old Tudor country house, and then having afternoon tea and an evening reception at a gorgeous farm nearby. They put up a marquee next to the lake, provide everything for the marquee and they will have a license to have the ceremony there soon too.

Its a brand new business for 2013, so no website yet, but it's called Buddileigh Farm and if you Google Buddileigh weddings then the Malibu Marquee website comes up, have a look on there.

They have a 3 bed barn conversion with a beautiful bridal suite, which is included in the price, and you can do your own food, or use whichever caterer you want, provide your own bottles of wine for the tables and drinks for reception etc to keep costs down. They provide a bar in the evening.

The cost of the half day at Madeley Old Hall is £800-ish and the marquee and barn conversion for the whole weekend is £3k.

We're getting married on 17th August this year :j Can't wait!!

  • on this note http://www.davepierceentertainment.co.uk/ were great entertainment for our wedding reception toward the end of last year and I believe they work around your area. Dave met us with us to plan exactly how we wanted our wedding disco to be, what music we wanted and importantly what we DID NOT want. They were great value, cheaper than the venue's own recommended wedding DJ. Give them a try.

I went to an absolutely beautiful wedding at Iscoyd Park http://iscoydpark.com/ so that is on my venue list (I'm in a similar boat to you, we aren't engaged yet but will be this year).

I also have Chester Zoo on the short list, but I think that's a very different kind of venue!

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread for ideas :)

We live on the Staffs/ Cheshire boarder (Betley)

    How about:
    Crewe Hall
    Wrenbury Hall
    Wild Boar Hotel
    Peckforton Castle (expensive but beautiful!)
    Keele Hall
    Rookery Hall
  • There's a lot of good venues near in your place, like The Ashes Exclusive Country House Barn Wedding Venue, Keele Hall, and Consall Hall & Gardens. Those wedding venues are good and they have a good service.
