PCN number not found

Hey all

my wife got a parking ticket about 10 days ago. tonight we attempted to pay the ticket online and kept getting an error screen. So we attempted to use their 24 hour automated payment line. After entering the PCN number the robot woman said they could not find the notice. We tried this twice and twice they could not find the notice. So where do we stand? we have tried 5 times to pay the bill but have no way to. If they cannot find it on their system, does the ticket technically not exist? Is i t worth my while ringing them tomorrow to find out whats going on?

Bexley council is the borough dealing ( or not dealing with it as it were).

Thanks.

Why not appeal this with https://www.pepipoo.com ? Most penalty charge notices have problems of one sort or another, they can help in this regard

I wouldn't consider it as a bill to just be paid. Most can be appealed successfully so you may as well try pepipoo rather than parting with your money so quickly. I go on there as 'SchoolRunMum' and seem to recall some recent successes with Bexley tickets.

thats what i was thinking.....if they cannot find it on their system then they haven't processed it or whatever they do with them.....if i physically cannot pay it, then should i go to the effort to ring them or just leave it? surely they cant double the fine after it goes over 14 days as i have no way of paying it......

    thanks for your help

NO. Do not just leave it!!!!!!!!!!

Never ignore a real Council PCN. They do not just go away unless they have the wrong car reg or something (check the PCN).

Go to pepipoo for help, and why not send an appeal snail mail if you are sure they have the right car reg number. Send it by normal 1st class post with the PCN number on it, saying whatever you like.

Really not sure why you are so keen to just pay a PCN when most win in the end when appealed.

No. Never ring up about a PCN, NEVER. Also you'd be tipping them off about it not being online.

This has to be in writing, you need a paper trail throughout. You need to appeal so wait for pepipoo to respond first.

No you are wrong. A PCN is live unless it has a wrong CAR REG NUMBER.
