aqua credit card limit increase

Hi! I have had my aqua credit card for 7 months, never missed a payment or went over my limit. I put through a request for an increase on Friday but have not heard anything. Anyone else done this already? Just looking for rough timescales. Thanks!

I put a request through on line and received a no letter! Waited a few months and then rang for an increase and they said yes. Rather amusingly the next day Halifax reduced my limit by the same amount!!

You're probably looking at a reply by Tuesday. It's clearly non-urgent, so I would expect requests are only dealt with on working days. (my request took 2 working days for them to respond).

Oh, and don't expect a huge increase. My hypothesis based on what others have posted is that if you are eligible for a 'large' increase (e.g. from £250 to £500), it's done after 6 months automatically (but do come back and prove me wrong!).

Thanks! Only asked for another £100 so fingers crossed. Will let you know.
  • Woo! Got the increase. They sent me an email. Confusingly the email was from Halifax...

Are you sure it was "Halifax" as the bank and not "Halifax" the place in West Yorkshire?

My limit was 250, then they sent me a letter out of the blue saying it had gone up to 750!

No it's not. Aqua is owned by SAV Credit Ltd. However, most of the customer facing stuff appears to be handled by Halifax for them, and the systems don't always seem to be designed properly to acknowledge this.

That was one of the reasons I closed down my Reward Card last November (Only had the card for 6/7 weeks before shredded it). Very frustrated by the chaotic and poor administration I experienced and they were unable to put me thought to or organise a callback from SAV or Progressive. They paid me a £50 goodwill gesture when I closed though. :T I might try them again this autumn and see if they have improved (second and final chance)
