No it's not. Aqua is owned by SAV Credit Ltd. However, most of the customer facing stuff appears to be handled by Halifax for them, and the systems don't always seem to be designed properly to acknowledge this.

Yup, definitely something like that - I called to speak to them yesterday and the introductory message on the customer support line said something about "Welcome to HALIFAX customer support..." Also the guy answering had (what was for me at least) a fairly thick Scottish accent...not that that's conclusive evidence of anything.. ;)

Odd, I've never experienced anything that remotely smells of Halifax, Yorkshire, or Scottish accents, but I always call them on their 0800 card activation number and press option 2 for all other enquiries - it goes straight through to customer services. I never email them. I rang today to ask for a limit increase over the phone as it's instant, and I hear talking to customer services makes it more likely than leaving it to the computer to process. My limit went from £250 to £350, and I was on the phone under 2 minutes.

Agqua card is dealt with by Halifax, - the payments go to the same dept as halifax credit cards, - the Aqua is high interest card - for people who are new to credit, building up credit, high risk as the average apr 39.9%
